I'm pleased to start this chronicles on the best day of my life. Yesterday I slept as an undergraduate, but today I sleep as a graduate.

5years in Covenant University is finally over.

Bachelors in Engineering

Second class honours (upper division)

It looked like it was gonna be longer than this when we tried to picture this end way back on October 17, 2010 when we started this journey, but see what God has done....look at where we are now, see how the heavens are smiling on us, see how the earth is rejoicing with us, family and friends pretty excited, and for us the centre of attraction: our joy knows no bounds!

Many started the race, but only the chosen made it to the end.

dREAMS COME tRUE

I saw this day 100 days ago when I started this journey

I saw this hour when this vision was conceived

I saw this moment when I would breast the tape

I'm excited tonight because I'm at the finish line

And God put life to it

I remember that one night that I was chatting with my roomie - Reme - while I was out of the room, he brought up this intiative and I couldn't resist getting on board.

The concept of 100days at the lobby was more than fresh!!
I felt like the king of branding that I am when it jumped on me.

Where was I 100days ago?

I have attracted ur audience

U have understood me better
U have believed me more
U have stood by me

so this post makes my post count = 101

and this is day 99 @ lobby...meaning day after 2mrw, I blog here no more! :-(

Convocation week activities kicked off today and we were treated to an enlightening speech that was delivered by the Chancellor. He talked majorly about the decay in the leadership of Nigeria, taking on them as he referred to them as '3rd world minds ruling a 3rd world nation'. Listening to the fact and figures of the ongoings at the national assembly wasnt so pleasurable, it's rather appauling to see how these folks rob us of naitonal funds.

I like the words of the great man that he made reference to who said

"Through the use of national resources we moved from riding camels to driving cardilacs, I only hope the generation after us wont move from driving cardilacs to riding camels due to the waste of national resources by this generation"

I like to think there's hope for this country, but how is it ever going to happen? Most times it sounds impossible!

Well, if I make up my mind to do it right, how many will join in me in doing that?

he said "if u cant beat them, join them" is a failure's mentality!

and I absolutely agree with him.....u don't always have to follow the crowd in doing evil.

So I ask myself, if given the platform, will I do it right even when everyone else is going the wrong way?

Waking up as early as 5am, I set out of Ipaja and I head to Lekki to drop off copies of the IVs for a couple of folks. FD's office was my 1st point of call.

I was lucky to have met his PA in the office, but it didnt turn out so sweet jare...hez nt gonna be free for my Friday launch... :-(

buh dreams come true, don't they? we'l c hw tins wil turn out eventually.

Spent a couple of hours in Lekki pursuing other things....mobil...VI...Ikoyi....and by 11:40 or so, I was back home.

Feels good to be back in school...at least I finally get to rest after a long stressful weekend outside.

Quite a no of folks are nt graduating and its rly hard to know who is who men..me that I just keep tellin evry1 congrats! I dunno jare

Sales of my limited pre-launch copies should happen on Friday...m lookin at a 24hr sales plan....if its possible to clear that no of copies within 24hrs?....God sees it all....lemme just play my part and he'll do this!

I'm gettin some nice deals from some folks here men...I'm just prayin these CU-preneurs don't chicken out wen they experiene the climate out there....cos it's strictly for the brave!

My laptop is out of battery!
I'm typing on dad's new laptop 4 d 1st time, and touch-typing seems 2 b hell here!

I had a loooooooooooooong day....buh I'm glad I'm making progress
I was able to print the IVs afta chillin on dat crazy queue for 3hrs! But I'm glad it came out well though.
I was interviewed by my brother's friend today....live interviews no be joke o! Well, he was just gettin me prepared for the big day and d many tins to come, thank God for Myne and NakedSha....I was able to answer his questions cheaply....though there were some hard nuts that were almst impossible 2 crack...buh I'm really hapi abt it al.

With my long list of "places to visit", I almost ddnt go anywher at the end of d day...thank God for the persons he strategically positoned my way to help me...if not I would hv collapsed...HARRY, THANK U!!!!

No time to claim CU graduate...I cnt b spotted on bike jare...soon u see me on Okadas, before u knw it...ure seeing me on TV, hearin me on radio....so this Okada era is the price I'm paying 4 d ultimate prize.

Simi left a comment on my 1st post of dis blog yday n dat reawakened me 2 d fact that I've stopd back 2 shorthand.

My day started in Church and ther service was quite interesting. I was up to 1 or 2 silly tins so I wasnt in 4 d sermon. D distraction eded up nt payin off....silly me!

I was moved to tears at different points of the day and 2 or 3 drops mananged to escape my teary eyes...I get moved to tears too easily these days. The moment I just think of anytin dat has 2 do wit time, I jst get all emotional.
When I think of wher I'm comin from and when I try 2 imagine d life ahead...it rolls off freely.

So my bro shared this testimony in church and it was quite touching, he talkd about his hustling days and I could remember those moments...tryin times bt all of dat is history now.

As service ended I had 1 or 2 tins 2 discuss wit him so talked abt em in a hurry since he had 2 leave 4 an appointment, and as he drove off in his new car I tried 2 smile and b4 I knew it, I had tears rollin down my cheeks....it was on auto response...lol
Ahh!! dreams come true...u knw I could rmbr times wen we wld talk abt our future rides, d mansions, d jets n al of those tins wen ther was no kobo in d pocket....d castles we built in d air....all dreams!! Bt c wat God is doin nw, we r livin d dream

It has been a branding n strategy weekend for me with the wave of concepts that God has been showering me with!

iN lAS Gidi AGAiN!

I got out of school this morning heading out to Silverbird galleria with the intent of presenting my book at the Silverbird bookjam after I received a call from the organiser yesterday to that effect. The bookjam holds every last Saturday of every month, it's basically book reading, interaction with the authors, book signing and raffle draw.

On getting there the guy convinced me otherwise; it was gonna be very difficult and almost impossible for him to give me a slot. But I didn't mind though because he gave a better offer, a scriptural verse humorously comes to mind right now-"for your shame you shall receive double"

So for missing out of this one, he's giving me two outings in return

Well, I had a nice time....1st book reading I'm attending....coincidentally ran into that FD's journalist sef. Seyi Oguntokun was in attendance n some other big boys in d world of arts n literature.

I tried tracking Tosyn Bucknor @ Terra, but by the time we got there - after bookjam ended - she was already out. We had a nice time at Terra, we were able to get a good view of the hall and all. July9 will be mega!!!!

We spent about 30mins admiring books at their bookstore....d books Nigerians are printing now are world class!!! Maddddddd concepts, quality print!

The Terra kulture guy that gave me discounts the other time even bought me a book from their stands...he just believes in me! He told me it sounded like a joke when he told the board that I paid for hall space for the launch of a book that is not yet in print!

I can just imagine how dramatic it would have sounded but u know "we walk not by sight but by faith"

The printer is done printing, all he's doing now is allowing the paper to dry up before binding and by Wednesday, I collect!

God keeps surprising me each day, delivering a unique love gift to my doorsteps, giving me cause to burst forth into jubilations and rejoicing.

Got home 8:30pm and my plate of Amala n Ewedu soup was waiting for me....that kitchen will know I'm around in these next couple of days.....eat endlessly! Lol

Today might as well just qualify as the best day of my life!

God touched me!

The impartation service was out of this world, the teaching so powerful, the prayers like no other....it was power packed!

I've never been this sure and confident about my success in life like I am right now. God's word came strong and I left that service today with a strong conviction that I will be the one to bring honour to my Alma mata, to reflect the vision of this great institution, so watch out.....watch out.......God just started with me.

I put a call through to a brother's friend today and as I he heard it was me...his eyes opened up and he remembers he has a platform for me.

As I speak to u now, I am already getting set to talk about my book in the time slot the organisers are giving me at this month's edition of BookJam @ Silverbird galleria. This is the best so far for me....ideally, I'm supposed to have printed my book and enroll earlier before I can be put up on the programmer, but God's favour!!! I am seriously grateful to God for this platform

The organiser has requested a meeting with me before the programme kicks off and I can imagine what our conversation will be like....he will just luv me again like the ohers have!

We thought it was going to be the last day of the great feast but as things are right now, we are slated to have a bigger feast by tomorrow morning; The Chancellor has declared he wants to lay His annointed hands on each one of us before we leave, so...we patiently await that session.

TTG was yet again explosive today. I cant believe I ended up enjoying TTG.

The impression we had about it before we started was a far cry from what we are experiencing right now. We had fun most of the time.

As I arrived in chapel today and I was looking for where to seat, someone a friend introduced to me yesterday offered me a seat and I had one of the most humbling or should I say overwhelming moments in CU.

The magazine she had in her hands contains 3 of my articles and I'm also on the production team as well, and in the course of the not-so-interesting 1st lecture, she was taking notes from the magazine! I've never seen anyone read a magazine with so much interest and intent...I was shocked.

I was moved when I saw the previous notes she had on taken on the other articles, well u need to understand how I felt when I saw the notes she took on my piece...I felt substantial, I was elated! And to crown it all she had this sticky note that read "search for Tolu Akanni on Facebook" and........I felt like I was living the dream!

We had a very interesting career discussion and I'm pretty impressed by her drive and what trips me most about her is her insatiable thirst for knowledge....it's on a strange order!

We wrote TTG exams.

In my usual fashion, I was lucky to find my way in to do it with the 1st batch, and thank God I did. I heard they had server problems after the 1st batch finished..these ppl and their technology!

I did the 30mins test in 10:06mins and I had 50/60....and I'm happy we are not that plenty on the 50s list...so I did 'exclusively' good!!

Funny enough, just like the heavens heard my complaints about the down turn in numbers of business talks I've been having lately...I was caught with a CEO friend discussing business for close to 3hours after the TTG exams!

Another friend stopped by in the course of our discussion and from our talk, I might doing a 10mins presentation on "brands to watch out for" at the launch since I already have something 'El Fiz' cooking as well

I changed my mind about rushing out to Lagos, I need to do some comprehensive paper work before I hit that city....I pray touch of tomorrow opens me up to another level of inspiration needed to effectively pull it off.

Tonite is one of those nites that I have loads of stuffs to rant about so if ure down to hear it all...:read along!

Distraction.

I've noticed that in these last days a lot of persons around me are getting distracted; balance is fast becoming an issue for many, and this is rather displeasant.

I take pride in the fact that I can multi-task conveniently, I can effectively link up n converse with two persons with contrasting interests and personalities at the same time, I can handle business effectively even during exams and all of that.....but many people can't do that!

I've noticed a lot of persons getting distracted by new friendships and it's paining me that I'm constantly falling on the list of 'old friends'. But I'm used to this phase, the runaway friends get tired of the new friends and easily run back to their roots. And I don't think I want to be fallen back upon this time again. Not like I'm not making new friends as well....buh there's something bout old wine..

I'm seeing some CEO friends getting distracted. I've not even had business talks with some people I expect to be hovering round me these last days for my ideas and contributions to their take-off plans, and I'm shaking my head in pity because I'm meeting people now, establishing new links with each passing day and I'm crying to have people I can carry along....but they won't come and I won't go meet them!

I'm getting scared of business relationships kind of, judging from the terrible experience I had with peeps during IT. I'm not down to start dancing around with someone's balloon dream; this was what I was sharing with someone who was complaining to me about the unseriousness of 'CU-preneur' friends. I was quick to share the words of my boss with him "THERE IS NOTHING LIKE UR OWN THING, THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN RUNNING UR OWN THING BY URSELF"

One has to watch how one runs after another man's dream, if not it will end up bringing pain and avoidable disappointments. This is why I keep advising those in partnership to document roles n b legally bound, but that deceitful cloak of "ahn ahn....hez my personal person now" blurs out their vision.

It's rather humorous to know that I have a friend who won't talk to me again because she felt she was correcting me and I won't listen....she says "take caution" and I say "allow me, taking caution is not my thing..Phil4:6 even backs me up on that" in reaction to that it's been 'hello' 'hi's......y???

I'm trying to be sure the problem is not me and my self appraisal tells me I'm not the problem. But even if I'm the problem, momentary friendship overlooks temporary misbehaviour. So y shun me?

TTG end tomorrow and I'm glad it's finally over, it has been choking my intellectual will. I have a pending branding job to do, pending consultancy work to do on an event, and A-Z LIFE LESSONS keeps unravelling new chapters with each passing day....imagine the same me that just claimed I can multi-task complaining oh!!

I'm grateful to GOD for the lecturer who summoned me yesterday, they discovered that my 6units project recorded score was '0'

I cant believe TTG is ending in 2days!

It looked like it was going to last forever when it started, but time has just been moving too fast..

Today was cool, quality pack of lecturers....the 1st speaker...Pastor Mrs Oyedepo and her relationship talk..the guy that spoke on 'the world of works' exposing us to necessary skills needed to keep one's head high during job interviews......a most refreshing and impactful lecture delivered by the vice chancellor, she talked extensively on breaking the status quo and creating new rules....the last speaker is really not worth mentioning, he dulled us!

I had good seat mates today...1st it was a new friend for the morning session...then 4 d rest of the day, Harry and d mass comm crew....Harry being a treasure box of ideas, I had to draw close to him to be sure book launch plans are right on track.

Saw runnaway friend, D-Mac today!!!! I know u wont see this oh...spoiler a.k.a Báséjé!!

I have been summoned by a lecturer to come over to departmental building by 7am and I am still in shock..neve received such a call before and it sound crazy urgent....I dunno what is happening oh. God help me!!

I really feel bad I've not been doing my blog-rounds in recent time....I hope to be back on that P soonest!

WOW!!! mY lASt sUNdAY sERViCE iN CU!!!

ANOthER hAPPY dAy iN My liFE.

God welcomed us all into the day with the early morning showers of blessings; the rain wasn't so heavy but it just poured continously and this cost me a late arrival in chapel, got into chapel with my friends like 45mins after the 3hour service started.

The sermon was awesome...my #2 ranking minister in this ministry, after Papa - Pastor Dele Bamgboye preached on "Ruling your world through supernatural power" and was in his usual style, absolutely practical in his delivery....that message was for me!

I got wet trekking to the cafetaria after the service because my hungry belly won't mind.

Then the day ended in grand style with the EIE cocktail, it made plenty sense!! It was fun all through for me..all of my guests had fun too. It was just too cool, there was happiness all around...5years in this school is no child's play so the source of the excitement is absolutely understandable.

There was plenty to drink, excess to eat, there was quality music (can't rmbr hearing any gospel song...purely secular...which neva happens in CU), enough grooving, pictures et al.

I'm gonna miss my course mates badly!

This new week is a great week for me.

By the grace of God, my pre-launch copies should be out this week!

You know I keep asking why no one told us that it was going to be this fun right at the end of the journey.

I've been having fun all through!! Today was just ccrazily fun!

We had our community development exercise in Otta market where we had, sorry, they had to clean up the place, sweeping, clearing dump sites and all of that(I was playing all through...all play and no work). The bus ride to the market was funnnnnnnnnnnnnn...guys were just cracking up, dancing, rapping, droopping some crazy flows and all.

I chilled with countless number of folks today, real friends, casual friends, random folks, there was freedom in the air so we all were relating like we've known ourselves since forever. I wonder what this school would have been like if there was more freedom in the air.

The event I talked about on monday - the birthday party failed again! Like I said, I saw it coming and I wasn't so surprised at the outcome.

Why do people shy away from celebratiing their birthday parties? As a Yoruba jayé jáyé boy it annoys me badly! come on, it's your birthday, a day to be grateful to God for giving you life and the wisdom to count the number of your days; I see it as a time to apprecaite God for the people around you, a time to tell such persons 'thank you', a time to have people bless you and say things into your life.

I love birthdays!! I cant help but celebrate every birthday because really there's always a cause to celebrate; I think I place more value on my birthdays because I always approach each one with a target, I always have a new feat that I must have attained to celebrate and be thankful to God for. I love to see people eat and dine on my bill...it gives me joy!

I know there's someone reading this who doesn't attach any concrete relevance to birthdays, it is because of you that I'm bringing this up; Open your eyes there is more to birthday celebrations.

It might sound like a cliché when I say I am having a time of my life, but really u just have to believe it, I AM HAVING A TIME OF MY LIFE!!!

Was out of school in the early hours of the day because I had to get some things across to the printer. My trip to my destination was cool but my return wasn't so pleasurable; just as I was going to get out of the bus, the bus hit a motorcycle as it was making a U-turn. How terrible it was? I don't know cos I never look at such, all I can remember seeing was that people were trying to drag the motorcycle out as it was stuck under the bus!

"Though a thousand may fall beside you and a multitude by your right side, it will not reach you"

Something similar happened on Monday as I was leaving Lagos and I am grateful to God for keeping me through all of this.

TTG was something else.

There was this organisation that came to host a seminar, and.....it was something else.

After giving CU my blood and urine for HIV, pregnancy, marijuana and alcohol test I went in to be a part of the session.

I felt insulted listening to 2 public speakers who couldn't construct correct sentences, those guys lacked the elocution. I was boiling all through. Though it would have been a different case if the guy had the content and delivery was the issue but he was lacking at both ends of the scale.

U wont believe the 1st speaker claims he has over 30 certifications! And I'm like if this guy can have such, anyone can have certifications....they were just saying rubbish.

But I'm grateful to God that I learnt something out of all of that, which is the fact that SUCCESS IS CHEAP.

The journey to success is overrated, the successful have made it sound like it really is a big big bigggg deal, but it is not. It is something u just do, it is just a lifestyle, most times the successful don't really see what others feel so excited about in what they do. If a person that claims to have 30certifications, and cannot speak good english claims to be a BRAND CONSULTANT, then there is room for all CU graduates to hit it biggggggggg.

I have been saying this all week long and let me say it here that a time will came - I'm looking at 2015 - when CU will sign a $20million deal with El Fiz concept to rebrand the Towards a Total Graduate (TTG) program.

I promise y'al that it will be mega mega.

To my CU friends that equally felt insulted listening to those guys yesterday.

1. Trust me, those 30 certifications are not substantial certifications, if they were he would have given us a load down.

2. Certifications are cram n pass ish....mostly past questions. If u have the opportunity to, go grab yours too.

3. There are loads of people like that who just carry big containers all around town with little or no content. It's a packaging world, u might want to take maximum advantage of it.

4. What u have in u is way better than what those guys carry, u stand a bigger chance, exploit ur opportunities.

5. Success is overrated, it is not that hard to come by, it is child's play...start something and u'll know what I'm talking about.

Today was beautiful!

I finally got my project defense done with, and the defense panel was sweet.....we just found favour!

TTG was equally good with Pastor 'Dele Bamgboye. That man is simply good! He brought sense out of TTG sharing his life-experiences with us at length.

Now this was all I could write as I woke up at 5:30am this morning with the intention of going for my only TMC make-up jogging exercise this morning. Based on self-policy, I had to update my blog before stepping out of the room but since it wasn't flowing so good with my heavy eyes that were craving to be shut just a little longer, I left the room by 6am. I was up until 3:15am preparing for printing work that will kick off today and at the same time typing mails to a couple of parents I'm expecting at my launch.

Well, it wasn't just the sleep and blogging that led to the delay I was again caught up at a crossroad - whether to pay my bribe and skip the jogging or to just do it myself; but it didn't take too long for me to overlook the bribe, how can I? I can talk someone out of a situation neatly and not feel guilty, but money changing hands??? It will bring more pain than joy!

So I got dressed, left my room at 6am for a 5:30am jogging and as I was walking down to the court, I was just thanking God, committing the day into His hands, praying in the Spirit and I kept on saying "favour, honour....it's a favour call, it's a honour call.." over and over again.

By the time I got to the basketball court, a good number of people had already finished jogging, those that were giving out tags at various locations were already returning and one official just told me "go back to enjoy your sleep" and then I saw the pool life guard who happens to be my guy and I explained to him that I woke up late and he goes "and you're still telling me, sign now!"

I signed and...

As I returned to my hall all I could say was "favour, honour....it's a favour call, it's a honour call.." as tears began to flow freely from my eyes......

It reminded me of one Tastee Fried Chicken billboard in Otta that reads

"Fast food good

Good fast food"

and I'm like

"Fast God good

Good fast God"

This was a miracle being pulled off in real time

God is real!

As I was under Pastor Bamgboye's teaching yesterday I could feel what the man was feeling, he was communicating directly to me....practical christainity. I could relate with most of the things he was saying, nothing happens by chance really...you have to envision it before it can. I jokingly told someone this week that I won't have to jog, that I will just sign.

"Corgito ergo sum"

Vivian had a good dose of me yesterday....a contagious dose as she called it.

God has been opening my eyes to a couple of things since TTG started and I had been looking for a platform to share it with someone, then she came in handy and I didn't let her go until I was done talking. Very soon I'll talk about some of them here, but the ish is that people just see all those things as pride, but it is not...God opened my eyes to it and since He has promised Abraham that "as far as your eyes can see I shall give unto you", by opening our eyes to these things, He opens our life to the manifestation of such.

Did you guys listen to that pastor yesterday?? When you hear it from a clergy you will say he's boasting in the Lord right? Allow me boast in my God too. I've realised that because of His jealousy, He's not so excited that some are making it big without giving any form of regard to his majesty, so He's all out to flourish the few that are doing it in His name!

God is taking me to the next level and I'm most excited about this!

TTG is killing me cos I'm so clumsy right now.

I finally got the opportunity to have my project defense yesterday when we faced the panel like 2hrs after kick-off. We were just 2mins into our presentation when electricity was interrupted, thinking it was a change-over we were still calm for the first 2mins that followed after which it became obvious that we were in the middle of a big mess. The power house had switched off the generator!

The lecturers on the panel got angry went to their various offices, grabbed their car keys and within the next couple of minutes almost all of them had left the departmental building. I'm not enjoying overtime in Otta!

If not because other good things are happening in my life, I would probably be in a traumatic state right now..but I know all things work together for good and I'm beginning to sense maybe God doesn't want me to leave school.

I'm not even happy I've almost not had any personal time of talking to God at length this week.....I miss my daddy!

I've not had a day this annoying in a very long while

TTG classes were crazy boring

Was on my feet for long hours hustling to get project defense done with, yet it was in all in vain...no defense!

But the day started on a very good note, I had loads of personal ish to work on during the 1st session of TTG, so I wasn't into the boring lectures. But I had to stop that after that like 2hours when I got a seatmate...I had one of the most challenging discussions of a lifetime with her, we were discussing business, entrepreneurship actually and I was trying to take down every plan, highlighting the cons but to a reasonable extent she happened to pass the test which is something that will almost never happen on a normal day.

In no time we were done discussing her plans and the tables turned and men, it was tough! I've never had anyone challenge me that much in a long time as she was trying to do the same thing I did to her to me, it was breath-taking...she analysed everything!

It was tough but u can trust me to sell myself well now, I'm happy I didn't sink.

That conversation ended as the chancellor arrived to deliver his most refreshing and most enlightening lecture on the power of knowledge, that man has wits!

As I returned from TTG classes, I had 5missed calls from my ex-boss I flashed, he called and the news was WOW! Best printer deal so far on this book ish...I'm super excited men!

And as I was typing this a friend came in and we were discussing career opportunities. He's into photography and I was sharing thoughts that came to my mind as I was in Terra kulture the other day on how we could have a little photography exhibition. He could get some of his works printed n framed and have a stand at the venue.

After a 5:30am departure from home I was in school by 7:00am

TTG = Toward a Total Graduate.

TTG started today, 7:30am

Its a part of the CU curriculum, a programme aimed at preparing final year students of CU for the graduate experience.

I have my reserves about the whole thing, but I want to 'enjoy' it for one more day before I make my complete judgement and tell it the way I see it publicly.

It's another night of greatness!

Btw, I have an event to manage this weekend, birthday party; I've never been lucky organising one...d celebrants always disappoint at the end of d day and I'm not sure if I want to do this one last time. I should talk to God about it.

Plus I finally have my project defense for tomorrow, so you guys pray for me oh!

LAS GIDI AGAIN!!!

After my early departure from school through one funny route Asiwaju led us through, las gidi welcomed us with the early morning showers.

I made a quick stop over at the Aboki's kiosk to get a shaving stick and I did a quick clean up on the street...Mrs Akanni has zero-tolerance for beards and I didn't want to spoil her Sunday. Well, within 90mins of my departure from Otta I got to church just when the sermon started and the pastor was preching on ermmm... ehnn...**scratch head**...I didn't take notes, but he was talking about service to God sha, one captivating caption like this.

Made my way home as soon as first service ended only to discover mom was off to an undisclosed location, and as dad was getting ready for his service I treated myself to a nice breakfast..I know I picked 3 pieces from the stew pot sha...free food!

After a short nap, I drove out to chill with a friend that just traveled in..reunion made sense sha! We chilled in a restaurant for hours...peppered meat, peppered chicken..I must gain weight oh!

Evening was spent with family.

I was having one sweet dream like that oh but it was slowly interrupted by a melody in my room, mom couldn't contain her excitement that she had to wake me up with her song of thanksgiving. After 2 more songs it was showers of blessings!!! She prayed, prayed, and prayed, and I was blessed, blessed, blessed and blessed!

Had a business meeting with my creditors...printing should start Tuesday!

Had my first face-to-face discussion with dad about the book and even though it looked like my plans were strong enough at first, it ended on a very good note..if u have any idea about how thorough my dad could be u might understand my excitement right now. I just passed a major test!

I have to be back to Otta by 7am tomorrow morning..God help me!

Still dunno wats up wit project defense that they keep postponing..God help me!

After an unusual date that lasted for 5hours, 30mins I return to the reality of the fact that I'm actually in school because of my project defense.

Project? The 2 guys doing the construction in my group had a war of words this night, work is still not near full completion and the acclaimed deadline for defense is tomorrow!

I can't handle this right now, I'm just focusing on the fact that functionality is just 10% and the 70% 'A' mark is still attainable. But again, it sounds funny somehow right?

I recognise this phase, I've been through this before...I'll end up smiling, that I'm sure of.

Seriously Tolu, 5hrs 30mins of what????

First it was catch up, since we used to talk like everyday and there was 2 weeks of discommunication cause of her faulty lappy....then business, then relationships, then career, back to business again, then summer, then summer boat cruise on the day after the launch, then business again focusing more on the book launch, then relationships again, then parenting, then childhood things...

It was non-stop fun exploring 360degrees. Doesn't look like that will ever happen again....21days to graduation! Today is my last idle day in CU :-(

I'm done with my thesis now and I have to print, so I cant talk much. Defense, here I come!!

Fine, it was 9pm in the night and I saw persons entering the school gate with me holding on to their bibles and I'm like "bibles??....in these zones?" but I kept walking, the security guys looked like the same, car checks and all, well lit streets with all the streets lights functioning....just at about four minutes into my walk, I heard the music..."yea...that's what I'm talking about" I said to myself.

I went to the park, picked a cab to take me to my destination - the place was a bit far off the regular hostels, so I couldnt use the campus shuttles.

My cab ride was interesting, there was no AC though but I didnt need it even with my suit on, it was evening, the weather was chilly, he was driving relatively fast, so that was covered. As we drove through the streets I a group of girls on skimpy skirts and I said "letter of warning" soon I was distracted by another bunch of folks fondling with their mobile phones and I said "ah...3weeks suspension" to the couple that were hugging each other I smiled as I wondered "1 year suspenson" and to the dude that had a red dot between his lips and smoke covering his face I pondered "expulsion"

I sure didn't get university education!

I think I took university classes though...lol

My dearest UNILAG!!!

I could remember those days as a growing child when I used to make occasional visits to the campus with my parents to check on my elder brothers mostly when they were writing exams - cause really they came home every other weekend- and I would dream about how I would live my own life as a student in that school, all those young naive imaginations.

I'm quite positive that getting admission into that school would have ruined my life, peer pressure would have robbed my soul off its colour, so I can't really cry over what I missed, buh men...how do they read in that place? Distractions unlimited..parties, class difference, cultism, freedom....

Anyways my business appointment turned out good. My skye high colleague and friend is promising something big for the paparazi of the launch. How big I can't tell, but it all depends on how big Elan, 234next, Bella naija n Silverbird TV sounds to you...

But things still happened in the early hours of the day.

I was at Visible Impact

Fela Durotoye's office. I went there to see his media assistant/PR personnel concerning the foreword thing, I got tired of dragging the issue it's been frustrating getting him to download the attachment, I tried so hard to get someone to drop the CD off at the Lekki office...no luck and I had been on this ish for like 2months now...so I had to do it myself!

After waiting for the guy for about an hour and half ( I couldn't complain becasue I didnt fix an appointment) he got to the office and we got talking. I gave him the CD to view the book but his PC was messing up, so he tried to restart...in the course of our discussion I mentioned it that I was lauching 9th of July and the guy went "Better don't rush yourself oh, it takes 3-4 months before Mr Fela does that oh"

Within 5mins the PC came on and he started viewing...as soon as he finished viewing he goes "This is great! When did you say you want it? Give me 2weeks!"

That was a mega favour call

The bargain came cheap, it was just God.

From the on set, I knew I was going to get an unusual discount and just as I had thought, it happened that way. The librarian who happens to be in charge of the reading me just had an unusual interest in me, he was just showing me everything! You know, and the guy wasn't what I was expecting him to look like, I was expecting some guy on suit like I was, sitting in the comfort of his office, but this wasnt this case, this man was simple yet he had control over the big things that mattered. He made one or two utterances at the beginning of the conversation that caused me to pick the signals that there's more to this man and I wasn't disappointed at all

Sincerely there's so much to talk about, I have a whole lot of interesting topics to write about just from the experience of these 2 days alone; you know, if you know anyone in CU that blogs daily/weekly...you should appreciate such persons because our routine existence lives us with little to talk about..but when ure in las gidi..ur inspiration is coming from a higher level

I'm having the best time of my life outside school.

I felt overdressed with my suit and all as I was leaving school, knowing so well that I wasn't doing it the cab way and that it was a wet day in town. Ash was definitely the wrong colour of trouser to pick for such a journey, but something in me wouldn't just let go...did I regret it or not? Read my blog tomorrow

I was in UNILAG this night, and men....can we really call CU a university? I could remember one of our professors referring to the university as the universe + city i.e. a city where the entire universe is represented. We sure dont have that diversity in CU, we don't have those distractions, it's just a different ball game! I will talk more on that later...

How come the last is always the toughest?

Men, it's not been beans reading for tomorrow's paper oh!!

I've been struggling all day! In my bid to relax and have a stress-free weekend I washed off the exam spirit and that didn't do me much good for the early hours of today because I was forcing it, but I can still smile though...I now know something :-)

I pray this paper goes well because I cut out too many topics out of my reading list, with the way I'm dedicated to the couple of select topics I have read, you might want to think I've seen the question paper before the exam..this strategy has worked for all other exams...as in lazy Tolu cant just read all the topics, I pray it doesn't feel this last time.

After tomorrow, what next? Let me just wait till then before my thoughts take me out of this academic mode.

Today was like my best day ever in this month, it kind of felt like a birthday somehow, woke up to see NakedSha posting up my interview with her on her blog...was just too excited when I saw it.

Reading hours weren't so pleasant though, those were the only low moments of the day, I called Terra Kulture again, they've not slyed me..July9 is still open, am still hoping I'll get a discount from them when I go down this week.

I had a wonderful time chatting with a friend for about an hour in the library( I got tired of reading now!!!...lol), as in....it was good talk!

Then this evening was mega...I made 5 new friends within the space of 40mins, and I don't know what spirit was on me tonight, I was just cracking everyone up, everyone second they spent with me was worthwhile...I got a free dinner pass to some class dinner this Friday though I'm not sure I will be in school, but if I'm in school why not? free fooood men!

I'm loving every minute of these 25days to grad!

WITH A HEART OF GRATITUDE

The month of June has been bringing smiles my way, loads of mega blessings knocking heavily, the past week was a most refreshing one, clearing my papers all the way, genuinely smiling out of the exam hall, rejoicing and celebrating.

A-Z LIFE LESSONS giving me more joy with each passing day, word spreading fast, more individuals, groups, organisations showing interest and you guys really need to be here with me to understand how I feel each nite as I lay on my bed to sleep. For reals I cant even shout because its humbling, when did I start, what have I done? I'm really happy God has been helping me cope because I've never had to multi-task during my exams, handling my academics and business is not something I've tried out up until now and I'm happy it's been fun and both ends are yielding good.

Papa's presence at the Tuesday service really helped my week, I had a great time with God this week waiting on Him and taking out extra time to listen to Him, I made some crazy, life-transforming discoveries from the scriptures this week!

I rejoice with my brother today, I'm sure his introduction ceremony was a success! Can't wait to with my family this weekend....it's going to be mega!

As of now, I don't see how I'm gonna get out of school legally, I just pray I scale through with whatever plan I come up with.

I don't have much to say this night jare, it is still very annoying to remember that I have one paper to go as I cant wait to start my movie roll for the night:

FLIGHT SERIES III : The 7 lessons

(special dedication to members of the graduating class of 2010)

With just one paper to go and my academic burden getting lighter, I can think more clearly and enjoy what those that have longed finished their papers are enjoying. It's 2:30am in the morning and I just returned back to my room after 1hour of browsing in a friend's room, trying to send out one or two mails and uploading my blog.

As I lay on my bed now it slowly comes back to my mind again that in a couple of days from now I won't be able to do all of these again, I won't be able to lie on this bed again for life, Daniel hall will never be my hall of residence ever, no more daily signing of roll-call at night, that ID card we swipe will be irrelevant forever, and I won't have all of these people I cherish dearly all around me at the same time again.

It is finally here!!!!!

We all looked forward to it, but really can we handle it?

We were caught up in this kind of emotional state when we ended secondary school, I could remember babes shedding tears that day as we exchanged departure pleasantries; very few guys felt what those babes were feeling, we were way over excited looking forward to the new life ahead. As a person, I didn't feel any of those emotional things that day, Covenant University was tops on my mind, it was the only thing I could think of considering the fact that my admission letter came in the day before, so in my regular fashion I focused on the big picture and I was numb to the feelings of the immediate.

But I soon got tired of the big picture 2days later, because Monday came and there was nowhere to dress up and rush out to. It wasn't the regular summer break that we had holiday lessons that would normally start two weeks after vacation to look up to. It was going to be 4months of preparations for the journey ahead, but 'preparation' was just a title, just a glorified brand for the long days of idleness ahead.

Getting back what obtains now.

Life after CU will definitely not be any different from this, the July to November NYSC walk is a very long one. Please let me ask you, 4months of what?

Everyone is shouting, 4months of ‘paroles’, work, summer vacation, rest, self-development, self-discovery, self-employment, and all sorts of business.

80% of members of the graduating class want to serve in Lagos or Abuja, a privilege only about 25% might enjoy at the end of the day. And even though that's a random statistic with no proof of validation, it is neither completely invalid nor irrelevant; it’s the first inkling into realisation of age long principle of life that says we don’t always get what we want!

I could remember how IT went for us, most of us set out with big dreams of earning big pay, getting mega jobs, living in class and comfort, but you need to sit down and take a statistical ‘expectation-to-outcome’ analysis, you will laugh your brains out at the outcome!

Why am I bringing out these instances? PATTERNS!!!!!

Don't joke with patterns; the patterns of this life don't really change.

I was privileged to know a couple of friends of my brothers' in their university days, some of which I related with as fellow members of the board of directors of a limited liability company that they set up then. Unfortunately, our business didn't stand the test of time. But that's not the point, I didn't get to see some of those guys for a period of about 4-5years, but as God will have it we reunited during my brother's wedding;

Trust me, formulas can't handle life, it is God that makes a man. I've seen people being transformed from broke UNILAG boys to millionaire UNILAG graduates. I've seen people who lived hand-to-mouth being transformed to multimillionaires within weeks. It is God!

I want you to take note of these key lessons; you might want to write them down because it will speak in the coming days.

1. If you don’t have GOD anything can happen to you.

2. Not everyone will start out big and comfortable; everyone stands a chance and will eventually make it, it is only a matter of time.

3. Don't ever let go off friends you make while climbing up in life. (I'm still in touch with almost all my secondary school mates!). The higher you climb, the more difficult you find it to trust people.

4. That you get there before others is an ‘engracement’ from God, it is not your achievement.

If others get there before you, fear not, it's only a sign that you are next on the line.

5. Gone are the days when the best of things are reserved for those with the best of skills, we live in era in which the best things of life are exclusive to those with the best of friends. Keep contact!!

6. Life is filled with uncertainties, don't be too rigid, always have alternatives!

Plan B- Kano NYSC, Unilag MSc, GLO job

Plan C- US MSc, Apple job. US PhD

I beg of you, as you make predefined plans, seek out time to factor alternatives if you don’t want to be stranded.

With that same punk cut I've seen him on since freshman year he stares at me.

How come he's not wearing the copper frame glasses today?

"Heyyyyy my guy" he shouts as he approaches me.

Reluctantly I stretch out my arms to welcome him, and as if the handshake was not enough he reaches out to me with a hug, with him towering 5inches above me and my head squeezed on his chest, I manage to holla "wats gud bruh"

Bro? Did I just say 'bro' as in brother? God forbid!!

I don't like this guy one bit and I wish he could see the paintings of hate that filled the gallery of my heart. We exchanged one or two pleasantries, and he was about to tell me about his plans for his birthday party tomorrow when he suddenly looked away and beamed with smiles as he exposed his dirty irregular dentition; I didn't have to wonder any longer on why he did that as I heard that angelic voice "sweetheart!!!!" as she paced up reaching out to him with a soothing, sensual hug.

That voice, hmmnnn.... I could remember the happiest days of my life when that voice was what I heard at the dawn of each day. Those arms she wrapped around me after those night outs, I could remember that one night she...

"Hi dear" she interrupted as I was about taking a journey into time. Wait, just 'hi'? You mean she won't even hug me? It didn’t take long for me to round off talks with them as I walked out of the conversation lifeless.

Gosh! I have to put a stop to this, how could she..how can he..how could I....

with all these thoughts jamming in my head, I retired to my bed and in no time I was off. And like a dead Nollywood script, I found myself dreaming about her, she was looking all fresh and I was looking my best as we sat down to treat ourselves to a nice Chinese meal. In no time I reached out for the little box in my pocket; revealing the ring in it as I went on my knees.

Bang bang! bang!!

It got dark

Bang bang! bang!!

It got louder as I jumped out of sleep only to discover it was a knock on my door. In my drowsiness I reached to the door only to see this Calabar boy with the punk smiling with a pack of food in his hands.

"Baba, why you dey sleep now? Make we chop"

As he picked the fork in my locker and walked outside to go rinse it, my eyes opened with excitement as I thought of injecting his Afang soup with printer ink.

I obeyed that little demon.

I couldn't watch it happen, so I excused myself as I told him I had to use the toilet, I grabbed my roll of tissue paper and I walked out.

What if...? If it....? How will....? Those thoughts were just dancing in my head, and with a repentant heart I returned to warm him of the danger.

There he laid lifeless.

"U-D" I screamed on top of my lungs.

The response to my 24hours-old campaign has been so far so good. I'm excited the heavens are already smiling on me.

I went to the library to read for the paper I'm writing today oh, and after like 3hrs, I gave up on that and I tried putting down one or two thoughts in my new journal...within 1hr, I had filled 8pages!

I miss writing

I miss journals, I've been so addicted to my iPod notes in the last couple of months that I almost never use pen and paper for anything anymore.

I thought I was gonna chill till after exams before I could come up with content for my website, but everything came in a rush today and I couldnt help it.

The little of things of life always escape me

They never last

I try to roll humble

But then I open my mouth and it blows off

I tell my friends I want to do something small

Just small scale, nothing big

In a twinkle of any eye I begin to hear "what if"s

July 2nd doesnt even appeal to me anymore....like seriously, I'm trying to attach serious relevance to it and be hyped and all that but that feeling is overshadowed by what the morning of 10th of July will look like...lemme not just talk about it yet!

I was almost moved to tears when I was chatting with an old buddy of mine today, we've been friends since primary4 and we were partners in crime and seat mates all through secondary school. He visited my blog for the first time and he was impressed as he brought up memories of days when I would tell them about how great my company will become and all of the fancy things that will come my way as I grow older....men secondary school days of pride! I had not tasted life properly then, like I would beat my chest then that no one could do better than me in any of our exams and true to it, no one could(u guys heard momsy bear witness to that on my bday oh)! These Otta witches didn't just allow me carry that annointing into my CU journey...lol

That conversation was quite short, wasn't more than 30lines of chat, yet every line was thought provoking.

It's funny how you know certain persons for years and you're just 'hello' friends, and a random day will just come and you have a brief heart-to-heart moment, and the friendship enters another level....in subsequent conversations, you just find yourselves conversing like you guys grew up together!

You see, it's not the multitude of words that create bonds, it's the level/depth of emotional bond that counts. This is one point I want to make clear to my CU folks that might be reading this, don't do surface, don't relate with people on the surface level, go deep and you will make a friend for life. People don't let go off people that they share their dreams, goals and aspirations with, they hardly do!

While you try this out, you will discover goals and aspirations are not common to all...

People fall under different categories, especially the ones I've met in CU

High aspirations, detailed plans

Good aspirations, casual plans

Casual aspirations, no concrete plans

But two things are common to all 3 categories, success and failure. Though some categories are more vulnerable to failure than the others, failure and success are still common to all, so you can't afford to look down on anyone.

CREATIVITY THURSDAYS

I remember when Thursdays were my best days of the week. I used to look forward to every Thursday because it was my creativity day, my intellect was always functioning at its peak. My Thursdays were dedicated to sober reflection and a time out with God.

I used to start out my Thursdays waiting on God. I'ld make sure I get to work early so I could stream sermons online, if it wasn't Papa it would be Rev Sam Adeyemi or Pastor Poju Oyemade. I would kick off with the spiritual, take a diversion into business, I would write motivational articles, I would develop business plans, I would write speeches, I would plan for the coming days, treat myself to a quality dose of day dreaming. I almost never do anything that has to do with my job on Thursdays.

At the close of work I would pick up my iPod again, study the word making sure I discover something new. 6pm, I get something eat.

7pm, I'm in church for Sunday school teachers' preparatory class.

My Thursdays used to be powerful!!

All of these things I did because I was scared of losing my stand in Christ, I couldn't bear the thought of being an ex-believer or ex-follower upon conclusion of my internship, so I equipped myself to meet these demands; and I thank God it did pay off. Up till date I fall back on materials I gathered during that period, the strategies I developed back are still very relevant and I make reference to the products of that season of my life from time to time. The manuscripts of my book "A-Z Life Lessons" came out of that season, but then I never knew that was what God had in plan.

Looking through the years now I feel sad that I gave up on my creativity day. I can imagine how robust I would have been now intellectually if I had held on to it. I lost the value I placed on it because I just felt internship was over, I'm back in school, no more witches in the bus as I'm going to work, no risk of getting hit by an okada rider, I was back in my comfort zone!

Well just like my father would say, comfort doesn't always pay off. This comfort actually did cost me something. I'm beginning to sound like a loser now, but it's not that bad, it's not like i've been completely useless jor, I'm just focusing on the feeling of "it could have been better".

As the chancellor was talking about the power of fasting today, memories of my creativity thursday were just dancing around my mind. I'm happy I had all of those times jare!

But I won't be satisfied with that, I think creativity days might be back considering the fact that I just made a couple of resolutions for this month. June is my last full month as an undergraduate and I know how closing moments always go. God is always hiding something somewhere for a select few and I'm quite confident that I won't be left out In Jesus Name. Amen.

If need be, I'll fill you guys in on the resolutions later.

Seriously, grad is in 31days

My book launch is in 38 days.

I'm supposed to kick off CU distribution in 13days.

I have to kick off massive online promo like today!

I shouldn't be caught blogging right now at the heat of preparations for tomorrow's papers, but kini big deal....let's do this jor!

My day was great!!!!

1. Exams. U guys don't want to know how I'd been feeling about the paper I wrote today. My CA scores were near zero, so the devil kept on haunting me with thoughts of remedial, summer n al those olodo tins...I prayed over this paper like no other, and as u'ld expect, God didn't dull me at al; everything was on point. I was soooooo excited after the exams, because this is like my one and only course this exams, and I'm so glad I scaled through.

2. W.H.I.T.E. Worship Him In The Evening. A 1hour (that 1hr has never happened) worship session we have in chapel on the last day of every month. Today was pure worship, no praise...n u can imagine how much I love worship services, it was really really refreshing and I had a nice time in his presence and as usual I saw things again, my eyes were opened to some things again...really God loves me badly, I can imagine how well he smiles each time I cry out to him...I have a special place in his heart.

I don't know why everyone is on 'efiko' mode tonight oh...reading like they didn't pass their mid-semesters....I'm just happy I've cleared today's paper, any other paper I'm writing has been cleared a long time ago.

Anyways, I'm off to join the crowd, I don't want to toy with that trap of overconfidence again.

I wish all those that are still writing exams more luck this week.

The closing sorrow the thought of Monday brings..

Sundays always make sense. Though prototyped kind of, each one comes with it's unique twist and over the years Sundays have been worthwhile.

I had another interesting one today, didn't spend enough time reading like I thought I would because I couldn't stand reading the same thing over and over again. Anyways, we hope God forbids the rumour spreading around about cancellation of exams tomorrow over public holiday, we've prayed for naija already, we don't want any of those provoking/irritating parleys/lectures.

Had quality time praying to God today, this week is a remarkable one in my life and I had to secure God's presence with me as I enter this new phase. Might not be so easy multitasking, but I trust God will bring His help my way.

I can't wait for exams to be over jor!!!! It's just limiting my mind trips, it's not easy to have the mind of a time traveller. My mind almost travelled out of the academic realm again this evening as I hung out with Paps and Omogeblack....arrgghhh...I was on top daydreaming form, Bonnie help me beg that Omoge to stop discussing business around me till June8 please!

THE BOOK COVER AGAIN!

I've not been impressing myself with what I've been writing lately, so this is an a random attempt to pick up form.

What can I talk about? Should I talk about the book cover concept I've been trying to talk about for three days? I've been trying to gather my thoughts together and put up a piece on the concept of first impression, and I've tried so hard to do put up something nice and nothing good has come out. The mere fact that I'm even trying to force it now seems like it will even kill it further, but like I don't want to stop typing cause I'm really hoping it will come out.

I'm hardly lucky with that super-duper first impression and I'm trying to make my experiences the base of my talk on this issue. U know, with time I've come to realise that I generally don't hit it big with people at first if all they just do is to look at me, it's in very view cases that I just kill it on the spot; like I have to talk before I can strike a meaningful impression...why?

Over time I've come to enjoy the fact that people have a perception of my personality that ends up being different from what they get when they finally meet me. I've met loads of people that can't believe I could actually crack them up because of the intense seriousness they see on the outside.

But u know, I kind of enjoy all of the drama you know. Ure all out for business and then u find that the business content is coming with a large chunk of pleasure. This brings me to a key lesson I've learnt from my years of meeting people of different personality, I've discovered that no matter how serious people look on the outside or how serious they could even be on their inside and how serious they want to get during conversations and all, everybody wants to have fun. People want that good laugh and to an extent they want to gather bits and pieces about your person, so give them what they want!!

Again I ask, do we really know what we want to read in the book after we are done picking it because of the book cover?

Argghhhhh.....I'm losing it.....I don't know what I'm saying again oh.

Can we link this impression thing to the babes we label "career sensitive, Jesus-loving, committed churchgoers" who we see ending up dating guys with contrasting qualities - the kind of guys we label "yuppy, random, fun-loving"?

Because me I've discovered that those "career sensitive, Jesus-loving, committed churchgoers" guys are mostly not happy; happy in the sense of being fun-loving and interesting. They just keep dulling.

Really, what am I talking about?

I think I've been too happy these days, and I'm becoming unfamiliar with writing out of hurt and discomfort jare. I need to uncomfy with something soon. Writer's block is not for everybody, it is not my portion! I'm supposed to start pro writing by Monday o, I trust God to see me through.

I FEEL LIKE A CHILD

messing up with the camera after a dissatisfied meal

Mummy came around today and even though it was a coincidence it felt like a children's day visit and again I felt like a child.

As I returned to my room after the visit with a refill for my basket of motherly blessings, my mind went on a trip again but this time it really didn't travel so far. I had to dwell on the memory of a particular moment I'd always looked forward to that finally came to life last April.

Those of us that are familiar with Papa will know about the story of how he sowed his first salary as a seed into the life of his grandmother, and in return she proclaimed the words "you shall be great" as a seed into his life. I had always looked forward to that moment myself, but coincidentally I found myself making along the line that my first pay cheque will go to God. So IT time came and I fulfilled that, giving my first pay cheque to God. Luckily for me I had this little business deal with my bro, the returns weren't so much on the high side, quite small but momc knew about it all along, so her birthday came and I just picked up the envelope that I stored all of the returns and I gave it to her cause it's never easy shopping for mom, she atimes advice we just give her the cash sef and stop shopping amiss.

I can remember giving her the envelope as I left for work tagged "first fruits of my little business". She was probably still in her sleepy state then and I could remember her calling me later on in the day that she can't accept the money from me oh...she was just showering blessings!

I got back from work, there was a special meal waiting for me and you will just know she appreciated it to her roots. I had never seen her like that before.

Her coming today made me appreciate the times and seasons of life. I can imagine what life is like for her and dad at this stage. Mom runs her own business so she can choose when she wants to work, but asides business, my eldest bro is married and the second who has always been around all the years has moved out to his own house so she just has plenty of spare time to miss all of us, plenty of spare time to day dream about her coming grandchildren, plenty of spare time to return back to square one, honeymoon - just her and her husband. This life ehn.....

Now we are youths

Soon young adults

Soon elders

Grandfathers, great grandfathers...on and on like that.

In essence, I love my mom, she's simply the best, she never stops making me feel like a child, and she made my childrens' day worthwhile and for many others who ate out of her pot today. God bless you ma!

I've gotten to a point in my life when I don't just know anymore. I just don't know, there's a new dimension to self discovery every day, new doors just keep opening, fresh insights seeping in, seriously you need to be inside me to understand some of these things, but the summary is I'm enjoying life and I'm loving the new twists. The stakes are getting higher, and this what makes life fun. I feel like I can dare anything, feel like I can achieve anything, feel like I can pull off anything.

I had to take a stroll this evening to unlearn since the academic content was too high...lol. You know my schooling is basically about the cycle of learn - unlearn - relearn - unlearn.

I unlearn in the course of the semester as a result of my bad 'no-revision' habit.

I relearn when exams are near.

Then I unlearn as soon as I'm done with my papers

There might be need to relearn later on again if a similar course content comes up in another course.

My happiness today brings us back to something I've always talked about and I'm sure I must have mentioned here; Life just seems to operate with one funny wave like this....series of bad luck happening to the same sets of persons around the same time, and in another case, series of contracts just coming the way of already 'made' guys who really don't need the money, and then some people are just in the middle...good today, ok tomorrow, fair the day after.

Anyways, I slept with the intention of waking up early to go eat breakfast. Morning came and I had a swell time worshipping God before I stepped out; I didn't know why I just felt like I should go out for breakfast, and even after going out and not being able to get myself a meal I still can't understand why I went out.

Reading made a whole lot of sense today, my academic passion is still burning high and I can't wait for Monday!!!

Soccer evening was fun as we watched Inter Milan FC lift the champions league cup.

I'm looking forward to a beautiful church service tomorrow. Nite!!!

Is it just me or these last couple of days are actually more fun than I anticipated. As in, I've been smiling :-)

Life just seems to be more fun with each passing moment and I'm slowly beginning to fear the hours when I'll miss all of these... buh for now, I'm enjoying myself.

Final exams start on Monday and I can't feel the tension in the air yet, most people are just approaching it like it's a 10mark test...na wa oh! Anyways, I've resolved to make tomorrow 100% academics, I need to do my final reading for Monday's paper so I can enjoy a level of calmness on Sunday.

I just have this strong urge that this is my semester for straight 'A's and I can only trust God to prove himself as I play my part.

Let June 9 come on time jare so I can get to down to Lagos, distribute my July9 launch IVs, conclude on launch venue, start my mass print and live the dream.

I can just picture that little ambitious me that sat down in that chapel on Monday, 17th October, 2005; this journey looked like a forever journey then but we didn't mind, we saw manhood coming at the end of the journey, we pictured the 'up's only, the thought of our down moments was far fetched, the energy was something else, our hopes at its peak.

5years almost complete and I've not done bad at all, I can only appreciate God who has been behind it all. Many ran off course, but I'm still here to tell my story.

The most valuable asset I can hold on to after it all is the gift of friendship. I have the best set of friends in the world, and I take pride in that.

On a day like this, I miss all my CU uncles and aunts who are already flying. God helped me so well that right from inception I've always had elderly ones who have picked interest in me, and it was in this final year when there was really no one above me that I read more meaning to the importance of the role they played. God bless them all!!

I can't wait to get out there and continue the relationship I have with them.

This one key area is where people get it wrong atimes, people see having senior ones around them as a burden, which is a seriously ignorant perspective to life. How can you not have persons that you are accountable to?

I probably place more value on this than the average person would because I grew up with two elderly brothers who are 9 and 7years older, and till date I always trace the roots of my oversized maturity to my brothers. I couldn't just be left out! They didn't give the opportunity to reason as a toddler, they always expected me to know things that were beyond my scope. So it's this same intellectual ambience I'm always looking out for in every new enviroment I find myself. God bless my brothers!!

I love all my friends and I don't care if this post is getting too long, I just have to recognize them. ;-)

I can't stand people who are not futuristic, so most of my friends are persons that always talk about THE DREAM. I am who I am today because of the talk I talk and the influence resulting from the talk. I like to talk the dream and I probably would never have gotten close to achieving any if I didn't have friends that just seem to believe me. My life happens to operate in such a fashion that if I'm within a group of people and I open my mouth to pronounce one, two things I want to achieve, I never rest until I do those things.

That's what my ego does for me

And that's what my friends do to me.

I like to relate with people based on where they are heading to; and if God's favour keeps shining on us, I should end up having the major captains of industries as 'childhood friends'!!

That's mega and I can't wait to step into that realm.

My friends are multifaceted, and that's what makes my life fun. I've never enjoyed a monotonous lifestyle and God keeps helping me to discover more and more persons who bring colours my way.

The fact that I have you read this every night keeps me going, and thanks for being there for me! I'm talking to you oh, not anyone else.

God was right to have made night and day, and as a small kid then I could remember wondering why an unripe fruit will remain on the kitchen table all day and not get ripe, but then we go to bed and in a matter of hours, it gets riper. Biology classes came and the knowledge of 'dark reaction' wiped all of that ignorance away.

And then I just linked this to my thoughts tonite on how much information makes life fun and how stupid we could be when we find our dwelling in ignorance. I woke up this morning stumbling on some refreshing quotes from my mentor, Mr Alder and it kind of changed my outlook for the day, it set my thought pattern on another realm.

I'm not supposed to be in the best of moods, but I think I have some form of undefined joy deep within. I just feel light today and I'm really cool with myself right now.

With the postponement of the project defense, couple of refreshing news, dramatic evening for everyone around me, seeing my worst test script ever a while ago, more and more drama..I still have joy. This is not some faith talk, I'm just happy.

I have really come a long way, I have been through times that made me doubt if I wanted to continue existence, and as it's always the case, I found myself stepping out of such situations regretting why I ever got bothered about them in the first place.

If this school doesn't teach you anything else, it teaches you this one thing; you learn how to be numb to the pressing issues you are faced with, and this one thing has helped me a lot. Atimes, I just feel irresponsible that some things don't bother me, but really responsibility could be a curse jare.
At this point, I wish I could switch to "hurt" mode and write some things out of the things that are supposed to be frustrating me, but I cant find it.

20 UNUSUAL : HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

Today was a day like no other, the joy was one like no other.

Finally, May 16, 2010 came

Finally the first print of "A-Z life lessons" came and was dedicated to the God who made it possible.

One of the best lines I heard today came after we returned from the birthday gig and Aregbe said "Dreams come true"

Dreams come true!! I can remember getting teary and have tears roll down my cheeks when I write atimes but I'v never had goose bumps while typing...but this is it hear, hope I can contain myself though.

I'm just too happy, very happy, as in....extra happy.

The day didn't kick off so well, but slowly it gained momentum and....that was it!

There's no week I celebrate my birthday in CU that we don't have an unusual minister around..it was Pastor Isaac Oyedepo this time around, and men that's the best Sunday sermon we've had in ages. This guy is fantastic!!!!!!!! He killed it.

Had serious issues securing a venue for birthday gig...some woman was trying to give me crap and I dropped it heavy on her, she got all angry and.....venue changed!

Breakfast was like no other, In the words of Phuneh.."it was definitely the best day ever in CU for our new friends" Crazy, crazy, crazy fun and in the words of Restruct we could say "this is the dream"

The birthday gig went on well...there was too much food, my momc ehn..God bless her!

The feeling of holding that book in my hand was priceless, totally priceless...like Yinkeey would say "e baddd gan!" I was happy oh...too happy!

There was nobody that didn't like it, I can only pray the mass produce come out as tight as this first print.

I had too many wonderful moments crammed into one day and I just wished today I could have 48hrs in that one day.

I have to stop talking, too many thoughts rambling in my head at the same time.

Big ups 2 Ovie who said "I've read every note he has ever put up on Facebook, and I read all of his blogs" that blew my mind bro!

I love fridays 'cause fridays are lecture free and it brings that air of freedom and the feeling of yet another fulfilled week, it brings memories of the golden friday ahead, Friday 2nd July, 2010.

1000 - As usual I woke up this particular friday with nothing on my mind, no specific agenda for the day, was basically down for anything!
Was happy to see that Myne Whitman finally visited my blog :-)
Too lazy for a cafe stroll..so it was breakfast indoors.

1200 - Had 3 movies I planned to watch, and if you know me so well, you'll know my planning to 3movies is quite impossible! Well, I tried...I watched one, after taking regular breaks to do one, two things around me...cant even rmbr d name of d movie anymore sef and I'v deleted it!
Facebook catch up with Bonnie made sense sha....still cant believe you've been on blogspot all along!

1400 - Picked on a second movie - illegal tender - and it made maddd sense just like I was told (I only watch movies that have been hyped)

1740 - Headed out to the chapel to see Chaplain so I can get him around for the book dedication, saw P on my way down...so O as I got to chapel...chaplain - nt around.

1800 - CPC entertainmennt meeting. Really cool today....large house, nice concepts popping up.

1920 - Left chapel to go 2 cafe....ran into O again, so we go 2 cafe together. Getting to cafe, loads of familiar faces around...razz omogeblack screaming my name just bcos she couldnt help my arrival....omo yen ti razz ju jare.
That babe of the other day that I didnt want to talk to yet....one thing led to another and her friend just brought her into a conversation we were having.....one, two things...me I dunno o...

Was really a nice time in cafe wit my hommies sha, n O chilled wit us all thru.

INFLUENCE: ALL THAT I AM, ALL THAT I WILL BE

All that I am and all that I will be is a function of influence. Society is built by influence, influence is the building block of personalities, it is the clay with which one's character is moulded.

I am an Akanni today because of my father's influence on a one time Miss Ajao. I am a christain today and I love God today because I was made to go to church every Sunday to learn about God.

The word christainity was coined from Christains and christains were said to be people that lived their lives like that of Christ; in order words Christainity is a result of the influence Christ had on his world.

I can write today because my mind was open to learning. Opened to learning by influence of my parents who made sure I was enrolled in various institutions of learning at different times of my life time in order for me to be influenced.

These institutions of learning that we call schools can also be called "influence arena"

Experience is a major driver of influence. Experiences influence us over and over again. As a child, I could reach for a burning flame with no sense of drawback or fear of wrong, but the first time I touch a burning flame and it sends a burning sensation down my sensory nerves, that action goes down into my experience archives and that moment in time - which we call experience - keeps recalling from my subconscious each time I see a burning flame.

We think success today because experience fluently tells us the tale of two cities, one of failure and one of success. The former in which there is displeasure, frustration, sorrow and waste; the latter in which there is excitement, joy, happiness and fulfilment.

Influence is everything.

Influence determines your lot in life, and if you would agree with me that experience is truly a major driver of influence, then you should watch what you experience.

If your experience tells you that a moving train is heading to the city of failure, you jump off that train in anticipation that soon another ride will come to lead you to the city of success. But who says failure is the last stop of that moving train? What if journeying to the city of success demands that you travel in through the city of failure?

Shouldn't we even question these two cities? Is there any such thing as failure or success??

Ahhh....I don't know what I'm saying again oh.

The essence of this gist is that experience could be limiting, it is expedient for you to approach certain things with a free mind, a clean slate - Tabula raza

LIII: OF MOTHERS AND THE LUCK THEY BRING TO CHELSEA

Wonderful day with wonderful exploits!

Happy Mothers' day to Mrs Akanni and all other great mothers out there!

1000 - Chapel service was cool. I wasnt really a part of the service anyways, I was involved in one conversation or another through the length of the 3hour service. It was just my networking day!

I sat down with a particular friend/ex-colleague at Skye, we got talking and all I can say now is, I got a step closer to realising my dreams..hmmn...God works in mysterios ways!

There are too many people with long legs in this place, and somehow I just keep running into them..yaayyy!!! :-D

1330 - Had plenty readin to do after the service, ahead of the 3tests I'm writing tomorrow.

1600 - The last game for the 2009/2010 season of premier league. CHELSEA!!!!!! It was indeed our moment of glory, I was particularly overjoyed

1800 - Hospitality meeting...quality post-meeting moments with P. P ehn? hmmnpph......ok o

2000 - Back to the hostel and it's Food, food, food...from one birthday to another, to visiting moms e.t.c So I returned to my room after the feasting to crash

2300 - Up again, and after the 2hour study + 15mins blogging, I think its time to hit the sheets again.

LIV: SO...I FOLLOW

With my face buried in my palms I began to feel some moisture in my pams, and as the melody in that enviromemt grew louder, I could feel more liquid dripping down my arms as the flow from my pams continued.

It wasn't sweat, it was flowing out of my eyes, my tears.

How did this happen?

0730 - Quite an early rise for a Saturday, after sleeping late I couldn't explain how I happened to be up that early, but I freed all of that and I decided to do my laundry.

Tick tock, breakfast

Tick tock, phone calls

Tick tock, movie

On and on like that I moved from one random activity to amother, I even took a nap at some point.

1700 - Clinic visitation hour. I had made up my mind it was gonna be an indoor weekend, so.....I had to skip that for the first time this semester, I think.

I got on the Internet and I was just chatting with friends.

1800 - Guys come to remind me of Choir concert and I'm like e yah....I shouldn't have made that indoor decision, but what can I do? I'm going no where.

1900 - I leave my room to go look for a friend only to discover that the hostel is practically empty! When did people start getting this crazy over religious functions that are not compulsory. "Tolu, go!" "I'm not jor!!!"

So I return to my room, sat down to read for monday's tests.

2000 - My roomie stepped out only to retrun in utter shock as regards why everyone was out there in the Chapel and we were in the hall. Quickly, he dressed up and left.

"I'm not going anywhere oh, particularly now that I'm enjoying my study"

"Tolu, for God"

I put up a serious fight, but that inner man won't just allow me rest!

2020 - I pick up a polo, refused to iron it, put it on like that and I head to the chapel.

As soon as I entered that place, I sat down in an unusual spot and I could feel the wave of the Spirit. God's presence was heavy!!

"lead me Lord and I will go after you" was the particular line everyone was singing and before I knew it....I had not spent up to 5mins in that auditorium....

LV: PLUNGE INTO THE DEEP

What do people do when they are indoors?

Being indoors is not particularly active part of my CU life, it doesn't just work for me! Atimes I feel like I overdo the outdoor life, but again what's there to do indoors.

My outdoor life has been on the low this week, the whole down turn seemed to have started with that 'Audi-man' experience. Being outdoors doesn't just feel free again, I just don't feel as relaxed as I used to...we always find it hard to erase our past rite? But this is not the first time this kinda thing is coming up now, but it's the same experience come with a different feeling this time. The fact that I dont want to be clean shaven means I have to put my 6th sense to vain use by getting so sensitive as to ensure I escape all those people.That 56days to go factor..I can't just stand staining the clean sheet, 5yrs offence-form-free state is not something you easily come by in a place like this, so it's worth protecting.

Again, what's the motivation for staying indoors?

Indoor life potrays you as a focused person? You're perceived as calculated, no roaming around the streets and all...

But again, staying outdoors is not just right for we talkatives...argghh!!! Baba understands.

In essence, balance they say is the key to life; things shouldn't be over done.

I'm looking forward to a week in this school that I'll just be on super-hyper mode, laugh with anybody, get as random as possible, and in general just take a calculated departure from the regular because its needed. Those are the things that make life fun.

There's something about looking for big things in the most unusual places, I'm trying to get a good grip of that phenomenom...but men, it's just sweet when you go all out for something mega and all the mega sources just seem to fail, you move past the mega taking a stroll through the micro heading to the "give-up" island, the minuscule just seems to draw your attention and that tiny pick ends up being the next biggggg deal....I love this life!

If I begin to state examples...you'll just doze off on this page. lol

No serious plans yet for Saturday, I hope to make it an indoor one though...let's see how it goes.

LVIII: EXCITEMENT!!!

Today just made sense in a lot of ways

-Chapel service was a departure from the regular, the sermon was more like an informative lecture...nice one on the power of our words, Pastor!!

-My 1st mid semester paper was dramatic...if the Spirit doesn't breath on that paper, then I'm doomed!

-The not-so-smooth sojourn in writing the first paper gave me the spark I've been looking for, for some days now...so my academic spirit is alive again! And its definitely gonna remain like this till June 12, when I kiss Bachelors exams good bye!

-Was on phone with family for some 30mins or so...happy things coming from home, finally had my desired moment with my dad, mom wants to take my proposed small birthday get-together out of hands oh.

New prices coming from the printer, new gists on the Lagos book launch

-Fela Durotoye replying my message, and he thinks it "a honour to foreword my bestseller"!!!

LIX: NO-FREE LECTURE FREE DAY

It's funny how each time we get a public holiday, we see it as a national responsibility to center our thoughts, activities, and discussions around the deplorable state of the governance of this country.

It's funny how CU peeps gather in their comfort zone to discuss hot, steamy issues that bother the current state, the past and the future of this nation with the intent that their verbal proficiency, and charisma in discussing the fate of this nation will bring the long desired solution that this nation need.

Vanity upon vanity, all is vanity!

I woke up this morning to the excitement that came with the announcement of a lecture-free day, but I quicky put that excitement under check as I took a short stroll down memory lane, remembering that free days in CU are never really free. They sure did not make any move to prove me wrong as they announced a 10am parley.

Summary of that parley is: disaster, disaster, disaster!!

If I am to judge by the words of the great Albert Einstein who defined Insanity as "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different result", then I dont think I need to go further in expressing my discontent with situation of things here.

So for the sake of Insanity, I rest my case!

My much anticipated tests didn't hold, I pray I don't have any tomorrow because no official announcement has been made in respect of that.

I had a full indoor evening, not tried that in a long while and I plan to stick to that for the rest of the week.

Still investing well enough in my academics..I think I miss my dad, I should call him..he seems to be the only person that came help me on that page.

Beautiful sunday in Otta. The down pour in the early hours of the day was quite heavy.

Church service was quite refreshing...the message was on point and more importantly, the prayers were centered round me and my needs.

I have loads of tests this week and that's like the main thing on my mind right now. You guys should pray me God's direction. Exams really is a direction thing - reading the relevant, having the relevant up there and being able to pour it back on paper. Pls pray 4 me o!!

LXII: A-AH-AH-HA-HAUDI

Interesting day
0520 - Up early for this morning's ish. Speaking went on well..but it was one of those talks that left me with that "time was too short" "I could have said more" feeling.

1000 - Spoke with Seun - FD's guy - he was quite receptive, got his email ad, sent him my PDF...he replied and promised to do his bit. I'm quite positive about this one.

1500 - Academics. Sat down to read!!!! Thank God for that grace, studying has not been coming off easy these days...buh this one made sense.

1800 - Concept meeting, my peeps dulled so it didnt happen

1830 - Was chillin in hosp office and I had to get something from shopping mall, so I went downstairs, got what I wanted, walked out of shopping mall. On my way out, I ran into that demon, and I walked past him only for him to tap me and he goes
"Are u a student?"
"Yes"
"Better go inside the barber's shop now n shave that thing"
pauses and I was about to walk out..
"Infact, I've changed my mind, follow me"
leads me to revo office arena, and as we got there, a random guy approached us and he tells the guy
"give him an offence form, I'm coming back to get it now"
he walks away...
Then the dude starts laughing only for him to tell me he has no affliation wit the Rev squad...ope o!!! Immediately, I disappear and that's how God delivered me from the claws of the evil one! Audi oshi!!!

1900 - No confidence to attend W.H.I.T.E..so I returned to my hall.

2200 - Checked my email n behold...Mr Leke Alder!!!!!!
I'm still caught up in the euphoria of reading him! Wha did he say? He didnt give me what I wanted, but he made it clear that what I wanted wasn't what I needed and he commended my efforts sha...I'm looking forward to having him around for the book launch. I have high hopes on that one!

In conclusion..I discovered one truth today. Buki is a DODO!!!!

If P.Diddy could do this on tweeter, then I should join him in paying respect to the late DAGRIN....R.I.P!!!

LXIII: SWEET FELLOWSHIP

0525 - Woke up early to set out for my early morning meeting. Decided to close my eyes for 5 more minutes, and that was the end of the outing.

0745 - Up again, listened to some mp3s to get inspiration from the words of my mentors.

1100 - Class was hell today men! Can't even talk about it....the lecturer, the test, the lecture....argghhhh!!!!

So we heard 100 n 200level students tried to mess with the Chancellor, and its quite unfortunate...school's gonna be hot again for a couple of days/weeks.

1700 - In readiness for the heat, I finally had to shave!

1800 - Spent quality time gisting with God..quite refreshing!

1920 - I spoke with FD's PA 2day and things are lookin promising from that end.

2000 - Went to library hoping to get inspiration for the loads of pending articles I need to write for 2 different magazines and some farewell ish..I've been delayin those things for too long now...so I run into L.B and that was the end of writing o...so she treated me to some quality gists till library closed..lol...nice time!

Jst got back 4rm my graphics guy, front cover is hawt!!!! ouch! e bad gan!

I'm speaking by 5:30am in the morning, no concrete notes yet..hmnn....God dey!

LXIV: FOR THOU ART WITH ME

Today was basically an A-Z day! That was all I had in my mind.

0500 - Must have woken up like 3 different times after I dozed off some minutes after midnight, kept on refreshing my blogger home page with no luck loading the page.

Around this time my yahoo mail finally opened and I sent the mails I wanted to send to my mentors.

0800 - Walked into class some minutes after my lecturer did, picked a test script and I wasn't so impressed with my average score. I was just off. The guy kept on dictating and I knew writing notes wasn't my thing this morning so I picked up my iPod and I started learning at the foot of Mr Alder, it was quite refreshing.

This is the stage when I need to start giving serious thoughts to sales, distribution and marketing of my book, and reading Mr Alder was quite helpful.

1000 - First lecture ended and we were heading to chapel for the second class of the day. I was lucky to be in the company of Mr Mitre, and our conversation was one due in season. We talked at length about strategic market entries, we weighed so many options...our talk lasted the length of our 1hour lecture -didn't hear nada in that class. Conclusion is these things change one's life and I'm not sure I'm set for that change before my final exams....so, my book should be ready for May 16 when circulation will start is where uncertainty lies.

Our talk extended to other issues, and in a way I'm beginning to understand what July might look like. God keep me till then!

1400 - God reassured me again that he's behind me. From no where a guy that has contacts of one of my mentor's PA came online and by God's grace I should be calling her up tomorrow.

This is the same way God proved himself over the issue of who was going to do graphics for me, the 2 guys I was considering were just MIA for no reason the week I was going to sign that deal and God brought Rebirth Media my way n wat can I say....his touch is exceptional!

1800 - Midweek communion service. I was glad I brought some issues and laid them down at God's feet and the answers are already speaking.

1945 - Great soccer evening, Jose Mourinho has proven himself again! Can't wait for the league finals.

Dew got me thinking earlier on what to be grateful to God for and I'm happy this post came with testimonies.

I have a speaking engagement for Friday morning, I pray the perfect inspiration jumps on me tomorrow.

LXV: OUR HOUSE, MY HOUSE

Hi guys!

Yesterday night was crazy...my blogger homepage refused to open, my blogger chrome upload app didnt work, kept refreshing at diff times thru the nite, bt no luck...Anyhoos, its great to be back now!

Yesterday was cool.

0800 - All my days have been starting well this week, went for a regular Tuesday morning service, but it ended up not being of the regular ones. The Chancellor graced it with his presence and his teaching on Personal Responsibility was yet another awesome one, it was 50mins of fun and impact!

He dropped loads of funny lines that was just cracking me up badly, but the unique thing about him is that even his humour comes with an underlying lesson.

In sharing his experience on how his eyes opened to the need for a man to be a man for himself he talked about how a particular encounter in his father's house led to his enlightening on the fact that their is a difference between "our house" and "my house"

"our house, my house....true o!"

I sure do need to define when I'm leaving my father's house sef. But, its school for now jare!

1000 - Classes...ok

1400 - Classes ended. Then I had to chill for 2 long hours for some seminar with some dude on the postgraduate programme of University of Birmingham.

1700 - Going for that prog was indeed a waste! Nothing sensible...conclusion is I simply dislike anything that has to do with the school.

2000 - Business meeting wit D.Mac. We had to discuss the future of A-Z. Final edit, launching, sales, marketing and all...loads of fresh ideas came in.

So now I'm out in a quest to get one or two of my mentors to author a couple of pages in the book.

There's too much energy in me these days, and I'm trying to figure out what me is up to....

This is all I can remember about yesterday o...catch ya l8r 2nite!

LXVI: SHOWERS, BLESSINGS

0100 - Had a discussion I've been thirsting for ever since, a moment with someone that could frankly point out errors in my book...pheww!! Most ppl jst get carried away with the obvious and they are blinded to the flaws...That convo was priceless, luv u Mac!! Ure too conceptual...tew much

0800 - Class started with an impromptu test. I did good, xpectin a nice outcome :-)

My first lecture was just funny, I tried hard to meet up with that man's pace, but....he was just too fast jare! So I ended the lecture feeling empty.

0930 - The 1.5 hour break before my class was unusually interesting, I was just hyper and I had loads of gists for my hommie, Paps.

I was just in a light mode, happy with life.

1100 - 2nd lecture was sick and annoying, at least for me, don't know about others o..so it was cut short some minutes to the end, off to my room I went. Couldn't stand one last class!!

1215 - STABBBB!!!!!

1900 - finally took the much needed step of responsibility. I picked up my notes, headed to the library to have some moments with purpose. And by purpose I mean my much neglected academic purpose.

Wasn't much fun reading High Voltage Engineering. Dry course content, unpredictable lecturer coordinating the course....not just a nice combo jare. God will see me through.

2100 - Back to that life of cafe closing 9pm...I reserve my comments on the people behind it all. But how can I not have access to a quality meal for dinner after that reading drained life out of me...mschewww

I'm loooooooving the evening...quality weather, quite chilly, and I'm treating myself to a warm cup of chocolate and some quality music!!!

Men, it's been long I put any note on Facebook, I should do that this week, I think I'm pregnant again, and asides I miss all those wonderful comments that spur me to do more!

LXVII: THE UNUSUAL SHOW

Happy Sunday to you all.

My Sunday was indeed a happy one.

Myself and my friends set out for 2nd service expecting another "3steps/5keys/7way to...." sermon, and the usual lengthy ones...but we were a bit shocked to see folk from the 1st service done by 9:15 and already on their way back to their halls. A wonder-filled sunday it must be, we all said to ourselves.

0925- On getting to Chapel, my Head of Hospitality (HOH) approached me and told me we were supposed to have a final year drama presentation for our meeting this evening...yeeepa!!....We did our bit, gathered enough peeps, had a lil brain storming session. No one really had any impromtu idea, so I popped up the concept we used in skye for our winning presentation...The Unusual show.

Its a talk show in which we discuss various controversial, objective and non-conclusive issues like governance, police, education, relationships....etc and then we have some crazy hilarious everyday adverts

We had our rehearsals for like an hour and then we joined them in the service.

Today's service was one of those ATM services that the Chaplain asks us to bring out our ATM cards for blessings....I've been doing that thing for a while now oh...but wait, I've not even checked my balance this time, so.....I'l get back to u guys sha

Chaplain also decreed 7huor miracle

1500 - My 7hour miracle came hours after the service, and my package was quite humble..Tantalizers fried rice + Chicken

As thankful as I was when it came, now I'm seeing a serious need for me to work on my faith o! What happened to the bigger things sef? lik 200k cheque, free summer trip offers....n u knw those tins..

1700 - Our presentation was off the hook!! The MC at our rehearsals didnt show up for the presentation, so I had to fill in for him and all that, but we still pulled it off smoothly.

Men!!! Taking up any role in that presentation involved dropping off ur pride o....buh we had to do what we had to do, we really said sick things mehn!!

1900 - S's birthday cake arrive n we al go crazy in the office over cake, cake....common cake...I ddnt dull sha, had 2 much of that sugar goin down my throat...lol

2000 - P arrived, we go in for Drama nite. Didnt watch any drama jare, jst gisting...nice hanging out with someone new

Its definitely a mad week ahead of me!!! loads of exciting stuffs coming this week....stay connected!

One of those moments...I was thinking of what to write and before I knew it, I woke up hw many hours later n nw I cant help but go back to bed! so I must finish this in a hurry

Anyways, this saturday was a bit different from the regular ones, woke up to make some calls...needing my external links for one or two things, so I just had to do that.

Went for some ladies conference after much effort from "A" n "lil C" to convince me to make it down. It was more about them convincing me to come, what killed it was Love Oyedepo was one of the speakers of the day and I have always wanted an opportunity to hear Papa's children, and this one came on a zero-stress, free platform..so I had to take advantage of it.

What can I say? WOW!!! She's got it, exceptionally good. She didn't have to say too much for me to reach that conclusion; beautiful talk, classy delivery, was really impressed!

1700 - Clinic visitation. Had to pray in Yoruba again! Those people want to make me their yoruba minister..mscheww.
Had this funny talk with sum hosp sister whose name I didnt know and I couldnt ask cos her thinking was that I know everybody...lol. But all the same, I stil disappointed her, I guess, we had gone deep into our talk before I asked "xcuse me, are u in 400 level?" as in, it wasnt funny o..see small stature now, buh she claimed she was used 2 ppl doin dat alrdy..men, she looked 200!!

1900 - The hour that heralded all the crazy things that happened in the evening. Preety hilarious (if therz any word lik dat) stunts men!! so funny!! too funny I cant share. But I had fun.

LXX: TALK RIGHT

He had this oversized coat on, pink shirt, random tie, button down collar, and some ID badge hanging on his coat. Light rays were falling on the lens of his glasses making it impossible for me to see the colour of his eyes.

He had the attention of an audience that filled the large hall to three quarters, well maybe not a large hall, but he had an audience of 100. They all focused on him with rapt attention, there was no artificial auditory system, yet it was obvious his voice was heard by all without him having to shout at the top of his lungs.

But I couldn't hear his voice

He must be making so much sense I pondered, cause everyone had something to write. I noticed some people taking occassional glances at the pages of the notepads of those seated next to them just to make sure they don't miss out any word. I'ld love to know, what is the main catch? Is it the ambiguity of the words he spoke (cause I could see him spelling out some words on the white board before him), the sense in the words he spoke, or both the words themselves and the sense in them?

I'm sitted right in the middle of the hall meaning I have more people in front of me than I do behind me.

All of a sudden I ask myself what I was doing with this iPod in my hand, I looked at the table before me and I find a piece of paper with my handwriting on it, my biro placed on the paper. Oh! U mean I was writing?

So I compare my note with my neighbour's

He had diagrams I didn't have, loads of paragraphs that were missing from mine.

Suddenly his voice became audible

It was me daydreaming in class again!

Momma was around today!!!! Was good hanging out with her loads of great stuffs going on at home....joy, joy, joy.

I had a conversation with a particular person today and as simple as our talk might have been, I left that discussion with an unusual level of impact. U know life is just funny, we have all we need around us and most times we don't realize they are there until it's too late.

The people we really don't value turn out to be the most valuable and the ones we value turn out to be random average peeps. There's no particular code for getting a good hold on how this value thing works anyways, but I feel u just have to remain open minded to get it right.

Again it's funny how we talk but yet we don't talk. Most times we just find out that we really don't know the people we 'think' we are in constant communication with. Well it happens cause we really don't understand communication, or maybe we do but we refuse to tap into it. In essence, as we're in these concluding days I'm seriously avoiding that talking and no talking...looking and not seeing.

Weekend starts already, looking forward to doing some serious writing this weekend...haven't done that in a long while.

LXXI: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM!!! I LUV U DIE!

I actually wrote a 4line poem for my mum..dnt have it here its on my iPod

And there's this short story I wrote in class today(which is supposed to be the main post of the day) as I was daydreaming, cant upload that neither cause it's on my iPod. Well, my iPod happens to be one of my best friends, always there to listen when I talk..and did I ever mention it that I'm getting the new iPad? Well, I just did. I would have by friday night, so if you wanna have a feel of what the iPad looks like, I'ld be glad to share mine with you.

I just finished with the graphics guy working on my book and we are 95% done...and men, my eyes are teary right now, looking at how much progress has been made. Really, my life is about to change and that thought comes with a mixed feeling, a blend of that silent fear and the wave of excitement...

This post should be edited by dawn when I locate the guy with my iPod.

This day means a whole lot to me, my mom is the bestest in the world, she believes in me more than any other person alive....whenever I remember the compassion in her eyes anytime we have our "moments", I always tell myself I'm the luckiest son on earth...I just hope I love her as much as she does, cause she got loads of love for me.

I don't know if it is safe to announce that she's coming around to see me tomorrow, please if you're in Daniel Hall and this piece of information gets to you, maybe its time to be rewarded for following my blog...the meal will be badddddd, don't miss out.

LXXII: APPRECIATION

The fact that I could live my day, come back in the night and share my experiences with you makes me feel great! I don't know if how well you enjoy me but I know you're not reading me because you're bored.

28th post and still counting, so I say thank you!

The little comments you drop, the way you relate with me in class based on one or two thoughts I share here gives me a strange order of excitement and it gets me heated up to do more.

For a person like me that is pursuing a career in public speaking, publishing, and people development, this platform means a whole lot to me.

Today was one of those days I was re-awakened to the fact that this mite just be the lowest point of my life because each time I take a personal evaluation, I see a better me...and like more crazy things were just feasting in my head today. Me n my thoughts!

I'm not talking much tonite....I'm simply humbled by the fact that the no. of posts on my 28days old blog has equalled the no. of posts I have on my 10months old blog.

The essence of this post is to say I value you, I value you, you, you, and you!

Like seriously to the brim! Tonite is one of those nites I have so much to talk about that I feel like updating two blogs, dropping a note on Facebook, n them drop something for the mags to publish. How far I can go with this rush, we shall see.

0700 - Woke up with my head heavy, I guess it's cos I slept angry that graphics work for my book is not yet done n it's 27days to the launch already.

1100 - First class of the day was quite informative, my 2nd best lecturer 4 d semester so......couldn't have been dulling.
2nd class was not as terrible as I had anticipated, but I had already closed my mind to learning before the class so.....no new knowledge acquired.
Thank God I uploaded some Leke Alder PDFs on this iPod this morning, so I was just having some intellectual moments with my mentor.
Had to sleep when my eyes started getting heavy....I've not done the head-on-the-table sleeping this semester, but I don't think I really had a choice.

1200 - While sleeping, I receive a tap and it's a small note labelled "Tolu Akanni". I open em up.....
Tolu! You are sleeping in class, is that what you will put on your blog tonite?

I'm scribbled something in reply sha...can't remember again. That Stef is just a naughty girl jor.

1215 - Some funny discussion paper was being passed round as regards thoughts/concepts for our graduation dinner. I was happy to add to the message thread....some funny convo we had there.
I'm thinking a buying a notebook for such purposes oh...."EIE DISCUSSION FORUM.....where the intellectuals lounge"
And speaking about notebooks...I've not copied the note that lecturer asked me to copy oh!! Temptation to lie tomorrow already hanging right from this night....God have mercy!

1300 - The 2nd lecture already drained my energy so much that I couldn't just wait for my 3rd 1hour lecture. But we thank God, he didn't show up!

My lowest or should I say saddest moment of the day was at this hour. Someone approached me to let me know she's not been happy with me for (365 - 27)days now and......
You need to have been there to feel my pain. She said I never said thank you to her for honouring her invite to my birthday party! And mysteriously, she kept on using "me" and "us" interchangeably, so.....I don't even know if it's a "her" thing or more toes have been stepped on.
So tonite, I don't know who I've not sent my appreciation to. If you are one, I say a very big thank you to you for honouring my invite. God bless you. I'ld be glad to host you in another 27days.

Come to think of it, only a few people know that particular birthday was a mega sad one...I don't even want to remember it sef.

So I head to CST with RESTRUCT to see Omoge black to have one of those occassional idea moments. It went on well...really cool.
We discussed a variety of issues and I'm looking for where to share some of the contributions I dropped in our little gathering.....not every platform is right, it will sound like I'm up to something when I'm really not, if u know what I mean.

1500 - I'm with my graphics guy and a concept just came for Chapter Q, that page is maddddddd!!! I can't wait for this book to be out o...God has started dropping fresh concepts for my 2nd book sef.

1600 - I finally get the much needed hair cut...lol. I feel human now.

2000 - I have a diary delivered to me. Diary as in someone's journal, it's off the hook. Of no doubts it's a bestseller material if it gets published. I think I just launched El Fiz Publishing.

2155 - As I'm sitted in Chapel rite now, Ada comes around to say hi and invite for me a programme this weekend and she goes "I saw ur A-Z of CU, Oyinloye and stuffs...and I loooove it!"
Mo da ron!!! Ahhh!!!! I'm scared o. Publishing that piece on the Internet was a mistake now, to now think that someone has that implicating material in print is way craaaaaazy!!
God, Please see me through oh! 73days to go.

LXXV: NOTHINGNESS, SENSE, OMOGEBLACK

0600 - Woke up so early on a rainy saturday just cos of my 8am test that went well.

1738 - So I've got some idle 22mins to sit down and write, and even though I'm lost kinda or beta still clueless as regards what I want to write on. I still feel writing.

So in my nothingness I crave to create something. I think I'ld just spend the time dwelling on a couple of thoughts from my subconscious. Did I just make it sound like I was just gonna take a lucky dip into a jar called the mind, bring out one out of the many thought packets, open its contents and read/write out what's on it? Seriously, did I just create that impression? Because if I did that means I just got it all wrong.

Hmmnnn...matters of the mind, let's look through it again, this time more closely.

The Jar
We all have one in us, every human being has a Mind!

The Content
Life is dynamic, or better put, living is dynamic. Every minute, every second, every microsecond, something is altered; and with every act or activity, I believe an impression is created.

The Thought packet
This impression is the thought packet. With every experience, a new packet is dropped in our jar. With every new impression that the lines/words of this piece ure reading, a new packet is created and dropped in the jar. Loads n loads of packet u can imagine, ermmm...I rly can't tell if it is the packets that are so small that they could fit into this one jar or whether the jar is so big that it can take in these packets of various shapes and sizes.
Again I picture the jar in such a way that the thoughts that are fresh in our hearts are at the top of the jar and the irrelevant/less-bugging ones are at the bottom of the jar.

The Dip
Taking the dip is what we most times refer to as "mind searching"
Once in a while when we attempt to tell people what's on our mind, we take this dip. Atimes we reach for the fine, smooth, regular shaped ones - which is always the case anyways. On other occassions we go for the rocky, irregular packets.

The Contents
This is where I'm really heading to, most time than often we can't just let those raw contents out to the listening pleasure of those we r conversing with....cos of so many reasons we attempt to edit what we voice out
Could be cause u don't trust them
Could be because one packet is linked to so many other packets n it's jusr that one packet u wanna let out at that time

Could be because they r just too deep and they may never get it
Could be because u just wanna keep them in suspense by saving it for some other time

It's 1800 alrdy, I promised I'll stop when it clocks....

1800 - Pen bleed ceases.

1830 - I'm spending the evening wit Omogeblack, so we head to new cafe so I can watch Chelsea's game.

So basically I'm here sitted with this El Fiz of a guy that has forced me to come watch Chelsea lose .... Lol gosh it's fun to see him disappointed. So instead of sitting to dull myself I've decided to feature myself Omoge black on the el fiz blog ... Soooo wat do I wanna talk about? Wish lists... Have u ever wondered y they r called that? Well because no one really expects them to be fulfilled... as for me I choose to be different. I've created a wish list which I should say rift about here that I've cried over already and I dare say that he differnce btw ur wish list and mine is the pure fact that I totally 100 percent refuse to sit on my arse N watch the list gather dust it mustn't... I'm soooo determined to gt wat I want out of life that I don't care how hard I have to work to get it done! you see to me my wish list is my life not necessarily d things on the list but I lok at it as a kinda analogy for all the struggles I'm facing m gonna face... thanks Tolu dear for the opportunity to be bored n play with ur pod. LXXVII: VACUUM

0900 - Funny how the early moments of the day was saturated with
hustling and all sorts of unrest over the submission of a term
paper....crazy crazy stress dat I don't wanna talk about; crazy, crazy
hustling!
Summary: term paper completed, crappy piece submitted.

I must look for another day to discuss my hatred for having to do
assignments, term papers and all of that...they freak me out.

1400 - Had EDS practicals

I typed this on my iPod as I stopped by in cafe after my practicals:

I kinda like the joy it brings....

Sounds stupid rite? Take it like that? I dunno why I started it n I
can't picture what I had in mind as at then, but from experience it's
this kinda stuffs that I could just pick up on another day, add colour
to it and everyone loves it.

The point I'm trying to hit here is that, there are one or two
activities we engage in, one or two skills we acquire, and these
things really don't bring our way immediate relevance. Don't give up
on those things completely, they are just one of those things that
will help you to live a life of readiness, they are things that give
you the confidence that you're not a "one-way traffic" person, that
is, if what you're doing at the moment fails, there's a back up plan.
You know they say "there's no vacuum in life" so again just see it as
a profitable 'vacuum-filler'

2000 - Drama nite. Ermmmn...it made sense somehow, I loved their
rehearsal sessions yesterday and I was particularly tripped by the
stage setup - it reflected a great deal of professionalism - and that
was why I attended today, and even though I wasn't particularly
impressed, I wasn't disappointed either.

2200 - Nice D.Mac talk, I wonder why u came online so early today sef.
When I have more liver, I'll bring that our gist to blogsville.

2300 - I saw an inspirational quote on Facebook, and you'll see that

LXXVIII: SLEEP, WHERE ART THOU?

0645 - I finally open my eyes. whats "finally" anyways? I think they've been open all night long. 30mins after I crashed - maybe an hour, 2, or 3, I really cant tell - the lights came on and it was me trying to get a good sleep all nite long.

So I stand up to finally reach for the light switch as my roomie was stepping out of the room..within 5 secs...I was off

0715 - OMG!! 8am class, I've not ironed as usual...my head's achin seriously...am I sure I wanna do this? Got a test for 12noon...so stabbing is no option today. Humbly, I made the class move.

For the early hours of the day I was lost trying out to figure out why I was struggling to sleep all night. The stir the words I heard before going to bed caused in me? The fact that the lights had to be on cause my roomie was up all night preparing for the test we were writing today? But seriously, since wen did I start having issues sleeping in an illuminated room?

My test is coming up in a couple of hours and I'm not close to being ready, the more I try to figure all of these out, the faster the pace of the headache gets.

1200 - Test hour. The test was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet and I thank God for that!

1800 - Had a meeting with a section of the new leadership of Hospitality unit, and everytime I get the opportunity to meet with such people I'm excited to share so much with them cause being in their shoes is something I've experienced and I dunno how to put it but I just smile when I see that freshness of energy, that eagerness, that spark that is common to us all when we are about to tread new grounds.

Slowly I drift to my earliest memories of this school-experience, how I couldn't sleep on the night of October 16, 2005, the eagerness...I couldn't contain the joy! I was coming from a secondary school where I was king, I was on top of the class, best graduating student in the set and my admission letter came in a day to my Valedictory service. I wasnt surprised, my admission was obviously the talk of the day: "smart kid getting admitted to a school for the rich" Only 2 of us in the graduating class had gotten admission as at that time, so basically I left seconday school feeling on top of the world.

I had so much to dream about, my imaginative abilities were not as powerful as it is today anyways, but I still I had the dream in me.

I grew up in the 'brooks' so to say, the average neighbour was a lower class income earner, popc was balling on the middle class, 'so that impression of I'll be schooling with the spoilt rich kids of naija' was very much alive in me.

I had academic goals, I planned to stay on top of my class...graduate as the best in my class....best in my department......best in my college.....best overall graduating student.

I had dreams of making money, having heard of business moguls that started expressing their ability to attract financial fortunes right from their university days.

I dreaded the rules, the dress code didn't make sense.....though my first visit to CU on a school day got me looking forward to when I'll iron the new shirts I already had arranged in my box, put them on and appear dashing just like every other CU student I'd seen.

I dreaded the rules futher, 'cause it was my first time off home and I won't have my phone to myself, no more communication with my existing friends, no direct link to my parents...though again I looked forward to not having any parent monitoring my moves.

I dreaded the rules, then we used to hear if any one the univeristy can identify as your friend gets involved in any issue with the school, you're gonna go home as well.

I had dreams of evolving as a Total Man, afterall that seems to be what the CU vision is all about - the mental man, the physical man, and the spiritual man. I was ready to be made!!!

I used to play basketball then in secondary school, I was always talking about joining the school team to develop myself when I get to the university.

I dreamt of the fame, I dreamt of the name, I dreamt of the ladies, I dreamt of the good, I dreamt of the bad...and you know what, in a way these dreams were conflicting oh....but I wanted all of these things!

How far I've gone in living this dream, I don't want to know.

To a reasonable extent, you might know but I dont think I want you to tell me.

2200 - My ISP is messing up, internet activation issues still :-(

LXXIX: CONFUSED

Really, I don't know where to start from tonite
Should I talk about the Money doubler I just met who unlike the regular CU hostel business operators - who sell biscuits, noodles, drinks, sardine, corn beef e.t.c - sells the regular sachet water @ #10 per sachet, making #5 on each sachet sold?

Or should I talk about d 300level millionaire boy who's got 7yrs of work experience, sponsors his own education and gives to others like money is nothing. Who U won't believe refers to university education as a distraction! (But what else would expect from a young guy like that who's got married men in his own employment).

Or should I talk about the free-for-all / make-ur-early bookings for 'A' test we had today. Or the photoshoot of our moments of joy?

Or maybe I should talk about how all these mind-bugging thoughts came to being not by sitting down listening to some high-priced motivational speech, not by consuming the pages of a motivational diet, but by 15mins of corridor talk when I was supposed to be preparing for the test I'm writing tomorrow.

Nay!! I refuse to talk about any of these things
If I think any further
It will quench something

It's hard to understand the mysteries of this life, the events of this life appear so complex, but yet they are so simple. I've come to realise further that success is not for the complex, it is for the simple; understanding simple principles, sticking to them without questioning ur beliefs.

The events of yesterday prepare us for today

Most of the things I learnt yesterday helped prepared me for today. God is a master planner!
I woke up today to the news that I'm not actually free from sch wahala as I had earlier anticipated, bt I just overlooked being charged for missing 1 out of 8 services n I went for the HSN prog 2 hear Mo n I sure did have a gud time there.

Men, this particular story took different twists that m nt interested in discussing, but the main deal was I initially made up my mind I wasn't gonna go clear anything....morning....afternoon....evening..... evening came, I had a meeting in chapel, and as I was discussing ideas wit a frnd, we jst decided to take a stroll to new cafe ATM. Almost getting to new cafe, I meet my roomie who just got cleared, he gave me the form he got for me n he advised I go clear myself. I stepped into that hall, overlooked the queue, went straight to the officer n I got cleared in less than 5mins!!
I have friends that calculated wasting 8hrs in a bid to get clearance!

And this brought to mind a statement I made to myself some Sundays back wen we almost got into trouble cos we were heading out to service late, I said

"In every tight situation, there are sacred cows; If anyone will get out of it, it has to be me!!"

I'm quoting this to reach out to my co-passengers at the lobby, don't be plagued by the "victim" mentality. Coping in this lobby is no joke, it's not for the feeble, u need bravery; bravery to overlook certain things, bravery to drawback n be calculated n not work with the spur of d moment as the rest of the crowd, bravery to fire ur maturity cos..c'mon ure nt new to the modus-operandi. In essence, realise that the mind is a big battlefield and u must understand that in any win-lose situation there are victims n there are victors, dare to be on the winning side!!

I had the perfect company to myself today!!! It was an idea day. Ur day doesn't get any better than hanging out with Mobi-D n Jaye-Restruct to share thots on events n other general issues. The thinking was MEGA....d concepts that came out were MEGA, it was the perfect meeting I has been waiting for all week long....recalling all of these, I have this big grin on my face as I type this.

It feels great when u step into a discussion n u find out that the subject of discuss is something uve been thinking about all week long, therz this glow that appears in ur face as u exchange thoughts!
The kind of things I think atimes are not things that I should be thinking, they are not things I should be thinking in the sense that most people in my immediate environment feel I should be thinking about. Most times I get scared to voice my innermost thoughts cos it mostly comes out to be perceived as the words of a proud man heading for a fall..lol..but again, If I don't build my castles with the words of my mouth, who will do it for me??

Prayer conference was quite refreshing yet again, that walk with Jaye-Restruct was a much needed expensive walk coming cheap, getting cleared added more colour to July 2, listening to good music from Chief Ebenezer Obey is doing me a lot of good rite now.

Quite a solemn start for my perfect kinda day. Solemn as in quiet....it felt great waking up to spend time with God; it was just fun singing to him in worship, shedding tears in his presence, telling him how u feel with d understanding that He's d only one that can genuinely relate with ur innermost feelings. He's just awesome!!

My time in class was beautiful, my Thursday class is my #1 class this semester, d guy is my #1 lecturer.....so everytin was just sweet.

I woke up realising that today had to be a quiet day n I appreciate the fact that I maintained it that way; it's been getting too noisy around me these days, I've been hearing things I need not hear n cutting off was the perfect thing to do.

Lots of things jumped on me in my thinking moments today, a whole lot of stuffs!

My thinking pattern in recent times has been awkward kinda, I've found myself losing my empire state of mind, and when I don't think like a reigning champ, it kinda limits the kinds of feats I dare, it limits the heights I attain.

I've not been having intellectually stimulating challenges, I miss my reflective days when I sit to build towers, days when I think one or two concepts through n I just start typing proposals. (Hmmmnnnn....all these proposals I have on my system sef, God provide money o). Days when I sit to write speeches; the speech I'll deliver at conferences, seminars, launchings....

......But I think those moments r back kinda, thinking the impossible into possibility.
U know my bible says ".....as far as thine eyes can see...."

I'm not surprised I'm enjoying some priviledges today because most of them are things I thought through years/months back. My life has evolved to be a proof of the fact that very few things happen to u by surprise, every man is an architect of his own destiny.

My bible again says "Be it unto u according to thy word".
Words are the building blocks of life "And God said....and it was"
So I'm resolving to building bigger castles in my mind in the coming days, I won't stop talking about them. I'm not living large enough, I need to fix this!

84days more n I'm out of the lobby to board my flight, there's a particular brand value I want to attain n in a way I don't think I'm there yet; There are things I should know that I still don't know; there are priviledges I should be enjoying cheaply that I'm still not enjoying.
Gosh!!! I'm alrdy thinking some things that I shouldn't just talk about right now, I'm alrdy visualising some crazy tins.... but b4 my time at d lobby runs out, these things will speak.

I'm back from Prayer conference n all I can say is Nothing feels better than the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit. That phrase "sweet fellowship" rings in my head each time I'm in the place of prayer, n that's why I just can't help smiling when I'm praying. I feel most intelligent when I'm praying, I'm tripped by the fact that I could relate with the most intelligent being in the universe with no drawbacks; I feel like I have something to offer in the league of the super-intelligent.

Had a stroll wit Moyo on my way back from the conference, she's taking a teaching session at HSN 2mrw; hope I make it up early. I can't count top 3 females I respect in d lobby without her being mentioned...someone that stands out in her own class anyday anytime. Moments wit Mo always make sense; atimes I try to point out wha exactly makes her stand out, but uno some persons can't be summarised in one word.

I can't wait for 2mrw, I smell a powerful day ahead. Good night folks!!

Yayyy!!! It's been 2 weeks of fun, consistency n appreciable audience on my blog. I'm grateful to God n I thank u guys for ur support. It would have felt lik unnecessary blabbering if not 4 ur presence, thanks a bunch!!!

So wha do I have to offer today?? Lets see.....

I wrote many months back n I quote (n it feels cooooooool quoting myself)

This statement is not just limited to employment, it is equally applicable to other good things of life.

A friend laid his life for me this Easter n I dunno men....words can't express how I feel about d whole ish. As in.... I kept on looking at him in class today think deep on his good acts n I still can't figure out how best to pay him back.

0200 - Got new episodes of my favorite British TV series, Hustle....nice learning one or two con stunts b4 I dozed off.

0800 - Classes again, gists, pictures (since my H.O.D surprisingly skipped his class)
For the first time this semester, I need to give academic-seriousness a big chance. I need to focus somehow wit my midterms fast approaching n with 5weeks of lectures to go.

1500 - Lunch, Nap

2000 - Had to witness d departure of d last English team standing in the league of champions. I'm beginning to enjoy soccer in a most unusual manner these days....d game is no longer as predictable as it used to be.
I love football arguments, as annoyin as they may be, it provides an easy platform 4 me to weigh ppl's intelligence....d concept of ppl arguing wit dates, facts n figures trips me n atimes I see some ppl argue so confidently n so passionately that I tell myself "he must work for me someday" lol

My days keep ending with this awkward "it could have been better" feeling, and I'm still not so clear as regards where it is coming from. But somehow, I think I know but I'll rather not just talk about it, not to self, not to anyone....it's just lying somewhere down there. I can assure u I'l dig it out soon

0700 - U know one of those days when u just feel like a special being, those days when u feel like ure God's Child of the day. I had that as I woke up this morning.

1000 - So ppl that got out of school without exeats n all I see are sad faces all over, apparently loads of heads r rollin dis time. Quite unfortunate!

U knw those moments when u seem to be the only happy one, moments when u rly wanna shout n scream for the joy u have within, but u cant show cos d ppl around u r nt smiling. It seems like that's how I feel right now.

Well, I have to give thanks to God for making me pass thru this weekend unhurt n unscratched, it's no joke!!! I really appreciate God.

1500 - Classes were bearable today, treating myself to a good meal of Eba n Egusi felt rewarding kinda.

1800 - I wake up to do the expected - SHAVE!!!!!! arggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......I hate clean shaves!!

1900 - it's the Arsenal hour of departure from the league of champions
wha started out as an Arsenal vs Barcelona encounter turned out to be an Arsenal vs Messi encounter!

I've got loads of things to talk about but I can't afford to spill em here....I might not like the after effect cos they r deep sturvs n I'm not d only one at stake!

And u know, what started as one annoying general assembly ended up being one of the best in a long time.
The session handled by a member of the board of regents was quite impactful.

Hearing someone talk about 20, 30, 40yrs actually makes me realise again that 5years is just but a short moment in time. It's an interesting world out there with relevant doors opening to those that have chosen to maintain relevance in their fields.

Hardwork will always pay off; Idleness is a destiny waster. Most of the flaws we make in life, most of the moments when we happen to be hopeless, do come when we r found doing nothing.

Lawyers r simply the most intelligent professionals in the world, they always make sense! This woman had great sturvs to dole out n the fact that she walked out of cancer just 6yrs ago n she's still standing just killed her talk!! Kidney transplant merely 6months back, still standing.....gives me the reassurance that this God is ever real n He will c me thru!

This agenda feels quite irresponsible uno....but it was fun. Afta a long day yday, I knew d onli tin I needed was sleep, yet I didnt sleep. My computer wont let me go, gists wont let me go...everytin was jst xtra fun!

So d whole gist wit IBK was rly interesting.....nt had sum1 dat interesting n interested to talk to in a short while. IBK wanted 2 know everytin abt me in one nite o! d relevant, d irrelevant, d memorable, d randoms.....abbl. Waking up wit headache to know remember I was late 4 service cos I was up chattin wit a married babe felt funny, n I know IBK wil c dis now...so IBK, I'm running away 4rm u o, we'l b back as frnds wen u get d "babi" u promised.

Yaaaayyy!!! So Apuka liked my blog n a couple of persons hv bin likin my blog lately, m glad d audience is increasin.

Easter sunday was very normal, Easter thanksgiving service made sense, I had loads of places outlined for visits, but my very sleepy state didnt help matters...I spent d better part of d afternoon sleepin off!

I hooked up wit B in d evening...twas fun again.
Ran into some old frnds on my way back home...pulled over....mini-catch-up moments

2000 The Mitre crew came knocking. Jaye n Aregbe. They watched TV wit my family n it was d "who wants to be a millionaire" show...so sum hapi intellectual moments there. Olumide actually interviewed Aroma - the only person to win 10million naira in d show - just this last friday, so gists was flowin endlessly. They spent over n hr n it was gud nite call

So in my sticky-sweaty state I quickly sit down wit my laptop to tell d experiences of the d day b4 I get my shower n b4 I touch mum's yummy dinner.

Was up the in early hours of the day havin career talks wit dad n d talk left me with hope that he might have given up on his no-firstclass-no-masters policy, and well yea its looking more like m msc is confirmed; though he stil feels that shldnt b top on my mind (which isn't nyz) so I shld focus on my finals.

Urghhh....I shld include pics of my day in this post, but I dnt have em yet.

Main catch of d day was ma hommie's mom's car was available for drives (my frnd cnt drive!!), so I set out to his house early n zooooooooom.....omo men, driving wit caution is expected on days lik this uno.
1. the owner of d car doesnt knw her son's home
2. her son doesnt drive
3. no money 4 emergency fixings incase of any yawa
But over-analysis leads to paralysis, so I discarded those thoughts n d journey was smooth.
Home-Opebi-Onikan(KFC, swe)-Lekki(GET Arena, Palms)-home.
errtin went on smoothly!

Go carting was madddddddddd fun, it was my first time of tryin it out n yaaaay me! I dusted Ehi, Lekan, Chidinma n some other same children lik dat...it felt good winning d race.

Another high moment for me was @ Palms when I was checkin out their bookstore. I stumbled on their Leke Alder stand n I didnt want to leave again o!!! That guy is awesome....high-quality speaks round his works; sha had a fun time scopin all d concepts for free. freeee o....wen books were ranging 8k upwards. lol

Well, great week for Chelsea..I'm so proud of my team!!! Priemership title, here we come!!

Momc's alrdy shoutin "Tolu!!! Tolu!!!!"....it feels gud 2 hv ppl beg u 2 eat free food. Otta sucks!
